Zen Monday's the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what I think the photo's about. There's no competition, no right or wrong. Just have fun.
I look for a photo worth contemplating or, failing that, something odd or silly. Or all of those things, if I'm lucky.

ReplyDeleteThis one really makes me wonder if these people were always this way--this scared--or if they suffered some sort of trauma that sent them behind their barriers.
I'd like to know because I didn't take this picture in Garden Grove. I took it about five blocks from my house in Pasadena.
Katie, how do you feel about constantly being asked to bar the door? I googled the expression but didn't get very far. If the internet is right nobody knows exactly where the phrase came from, even if they do know what it means.
That house certainly has all of its bases covered. I'm most interested in what the sign on the door says.

depends on WHERE in Pasadena, the bars could be quite useful. If near King's Row, I'd put bars on windows, doors and over the bars on the windows and doors! Even my grandmother panicked and had bars installed on her doors (she was not even close to King's Row)---which, when she fell & called 911, the fire dept had to break a window to get in to save her.

Hmm. What's the king's row you're referring to, Trish? The only King's Row I know of is a rather nice pub on Colorado near Fair Oaks.
ReplyDeleteKing's Row--approx Washington & N Fair Oaks. "The Projects" and a drug king row. I made the mistake of trying to do a delivery there once when I was ~18, at night. Yeah, I'm lucky to be alive--am assuming they just thought I was insane for being there, let alone at night.
