Theme Day: Perspective

Today's theme at City Daily Photo is "perspective." That can be a technique used in art and architecture to show distance or elevation. It can also be how you look at things. For instance, this could be a hole in a hedge, through which you view a field of small avocado trees being watered by a sprinkler. Or it could be a window into the past, to the days before Henry Huntington bought his land in San Marino and this was merely a farm.

City Daily Photo is now 1412 blogs strong, the most recent being Denpasar, Indonesia. To see how other blogs around the world have depicted the theme, click here to view thumbnails for today's participants.

It's a grass field just waiting for the sheep. Did the pre-Huntington ranch have sheep?

I like your take on the Theme. It produced quite a variety of interpretations, didn't it?

Wish I had heart-shaped sprinklys at my house.

I don't know if they had sheep, Bellis. Karin the Hiker would know. I think it was mostly orange groves and avocado trees.

The best kind of theme is open for interpretation. I like this one.

I bet this is what Frances Hodgson Burnett would have dreamed up as her Secret Garden had she lived in the Pasadena area.

The Huntington does have some lovely secrets.

Even during H.H.'s time, it was considered a working ranch -- a very luxurious working ranch. They grew and sold produce, and I'm sure livestock was a part of it all.

Thanks for checking in, Karin. I figured you'd know.

I believe Huntington did the irrigating, too, so he'd be responsible for the sprinklers, if not the heart-shaped sprinkler heads.

I'd love this view to be off my back patio! :)

in regards to Twilight....stupid comes to mind. They were great because kids who didn't normally read would read them, they were longer than 150 pages, Moms and kids could read the same book.

I did read the first one but it took me a week and I finished three others during the same time. Book one ended in a chase scene with you not knowing if Bella (the main character) would live or die horribly at the hands of the "bad" vampires (except that there were three other books) and I didn't care. In fact, I disliked Bella so much, I was hoping she'd get caught!

Just to let you know that while I don't comment everyday, I always stop by :)

Thank you, Book Dragon. I do the same, you know.
