Sunday Steps

We've been having cool, cloudy mornings and warm afternoons. If you're one of those people who complains about hot weather, all you have to do these days is get up early. And not like 6am. You can get up at 10:00 and still get in a good hike before it heats up. I wonder how long it'll last.

Probably 'til I post this.

Have a beautiful Sunday, wherever you roam.

  1. Have a splendid Sunday, Petrea.

This looks like my village in Olde England. Are you sure California hasn't drifted north while nobody was looking?

  5. Dive, my love of things Olde and charming is one thing that drew me to the Pasadena area. There is attention to detail and beauty here, and we have a lot of Olde if one is willing to look for it.

Come along with me, Book Dragon. I think we have a lot to talk about!

That's the idea, Shell. I've already walked it but I think I'll walk it again.

    Anonymous, thank you so much!

  6. It's been a beautiful summer. No complaints from me about the weather.

  7. It has, Margaret, although I won't speak of summer in the past tense until Labor Day. As I predicted, it's already sunny today, but not hot. A good walking day.

  8. That is absolutely lovely. We have never hiked the Arroyo Seco before -- where would we find this?

  9. Hi Christa, I'll have to give you an approximation. Here's a map showing the Arroyo Seco Golf Course in South Pasadena. There's a lovely path that wanders through the Arroyo along the east side of the course. If I remember correctly you can access it from Lohman Lane, where you park. You'll walk under a stone bridge and follow the path south to Pasadena Avenue/York Blvd. If I have my memory on straight, that's about where you'll find these stairs.

  10. I was outside at 6:30 and it was downright chilly. I love it. I'll take a couple of more walks today so perhaps I'll check out that lovely staircase.

  11. A peaceful photo. A fine way to transition into the world- famous "day of Zen."

  12. What a photo. Brings peace to mind and soul. We had wall of rain here today, but it still feels like summer rain, good.

  13. I've been working in the garden just a bit. It warmed up out there! Susan, let us know if you go. I never thought I'd say this to anyone, but you are walking entirely too much.

World famous, Steven? Wouldn't that be nice.

Laurie, you make me laugh. That scam haiti plea has been everywhere. Funny that people should argue about it on your blog, of all places.

Summer rain in Moscow! Irina, that sounds lovely.

  14. This mild weather probably means September will be brutal! Let's all enjoy this while it lasts.

  15. Love your photo with the steps in the background. It looks like the beginning of fall with all those leaves on the ground!
    Have a happy Sunday.

  16. I notice we have a couple of brutal days forecast this coming week, PIO. I hope it's cooler where you are.

Ms. M, I don't recall when I took this photo. It could have been last fall, though it doesn't seem that long ago. I'll have to look it up but I'm on the wrong computer at the moment.

  17. Well, when I saw the picture I didn't exactly think of Led Zeppelin, but ...

  18. Speedway, you probably didn't know that my friends used to call me a Zeppelin Freak, so I forgive you (I don't think I can bear Bluegrass Zeppelin) and thank you for the compliment. For those who crave the original, it's here, though it's not much on visuals (our dear boys were pre-music video and screamin' wild on the live stage): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKg4g9zMeHI

  19. What a mild summer we've been having. Although I've lived here long enought to know the rough stuff is still ahead.

Regardless, this photo makes me think of early autumn, not mid-summer.

  21. So, K, I checked the photo's metadata (is that the jargon?). I took it in January. Urp.

Welcome, Cassy. Yeah, it's hard to get up on a cloudy day. I love it when I can sleep with the windows open.
