Garages, 3

Mild-mannered garage by day...

But by night, it's...
(cue 1950's scary movie music)
Garage! of! Evil!

We used to have a garage that was full of junk in my childhood home . It was always kind of scary. Finally we tore it down for the sake of a larger garden

Would be a great setting for a Halloween haunted house.

It's common knowledge by anyone under the age of 12 that garages are connected (by the same dark ducting which links basements and back-property sheds) to an invisible realm where dusty monsters and demons made of shadowy lawn-mowers lounge in cobwebs and moth wings, waiting for trusting children sent on fool's errands to enter their eldritch precincts.

Or so I'm told. I live in an apartment building.

The tightly secured doors leaves the fright in one's imagination... well done!

This reminds me of the garages of the 50's locked with treasures.

At first glance, this garage appears to be on the straight and narrow. But it's padlocked, there're slats in the chain link fence and a dog warning sign. There's danger behind the gray doors. Besides that it leans to the right

I like old garages and I photograph them when the opportunity arises to get a picture without cars or garbage cans out front. This one is part of a larger property that's probably historic. Even more reason to find mysteries inside.

Very interesting doors on that garage. They swing outward. I think you are right about this being historic. Probably 100 years old or more. Might have been something other than a garage 100 years ago.

I'll take the daylight version.

Ha, ha! A good laugh for a Friday morning.

I like that the doors don't match. And no way could you use an electric garage door opener with them.

Oh, how I like that title. Be afraid, be very afraid.

And have I got the garage to end all garages for you. Or maybe for me.

Karin, I should have called it "Garages, the Sequel." Or "Return of the Garages." But it's my third "Garages" post.

When I groggily checked your post on my tiny iPod Touch this morning I though it said "but by night they cut 1950's scary movie music" and thought it was an old recording studio for movies like "The Blob". Even though I was totally wrong, I still like the photos.

Fun post! Will there be a Garages, Part 4 coming this October??

I can't guarantee a scary movie each time, but I may put up more garages sooner rather than later.

If some guy with a chain saw comes out of one of those garage doors...I'm outta there!!!

Eek, the shining!

Petrea Burchard said...

I hope so, Chieftess! Don't be stickin' around for chainsaws.

Dina, I walked Boz by there yesterday and all looked perfectly innocent. Hmmm.
