Title

It happens from time to time that I bring a blank brain with me to the blank screen.

As I write, it's the night before today. I've spent what little mental capital I had, sitting in front of a computer all day typing numbers. I don't have anything left with which to write intelligently, about this photo or about anything.

Poo. It's not Zen Monday. I can't expect you to write it for me. What's a daily blogger to do?

It would be appropriate to post no photo at all. Then you could see what I'm really thinking.

Petrea, I've taken a hundred similar compositions and they've all failed where this succeeded beautifully. Rest easy on the words.

This photo tells us that your subconscious begs for new hairdo.

Irina: Hahahahaha.

That's a beautiful photo, Petrea. It would make a killer jigsaw puzzle.

I often prepare my posts several days ahead, that saves me the trouble of having to write when I'm unable to write anything.

Dive's got a point. I hate that sort of jigsaw puzzle!

Typing numbers all day? Are you writing your new novel in code?

That's an amazing tree.

The photo is perfect. It says more than hundreds words.
PS: if you don't put photos, well, the blog can't be "pasadena daily photo" :D

Heh,heh, heh!!! I love the title!!! Wish I had the gift to write as well as you even when your brain is mush!!!

I know only too well where your brain is at the moment. Done. Stick a fork in it, done.

Sometimes, it is the lack of words, or heavy work, that expresses the most.

Beautiful shot. 'nuff said!

Ah, you're all so forgiving! Thank you. Irina, the new hairdo is just what I need. And Nathalie, it would make so much sense for me to "bank" a few posts, now, wouldn't it? I should really do that.

I feel better this morning, though I'm still not the sharpest tack in the deck.

As you can see from these comments, your posts inspire us even when you think they don't; part of what you have done with your images and words is create a crazy-cool community of people who want to share in the wonder of images and words with you. So there you go: you did it again today, and on a mushy brain, no less. Good job, Petrea.

I sat down to write last night in the first time in a week and had the same problem: nothing there. But you still managed to write something we can all relate to and post a fantastic tree to go along with it. Kudos.

Now I'm off to see daisy's t-shirt...

Comment!?

Loren, I hardly know what to say. Thank you. I like all of you so much. Every day I feel so lucky when people comment on my posts.

Susan, I wrote what was on my mind, which was "Ack! Nothing's on my mind!" It's an old technique--start writing whatever comes out, and something will come out.

Daisy, if I remember correctly, that t-shirt was a bribe! Thanks for rising to the challenge of becoming the 500th follower here at PDP.

J, no comment.

Petrea, I think you pitched one box too many. One of them seems to have had J's vocabulary in it.

Oh I love it! :-) And you really made my day! Thank you again for the present! :-) LOVELY!

All the dictionaries are in my office. We really do need book shelves.

Cliff, it's like you know me. For which I apologize.

When a photo is THIS pretty, who needs words?

When people butcher trees and lop off their branches, what results is all those wispy, unhealthy offshoots. Stop it!

Petrea Burchard said...

J.J., thank you.

Ann, the parking lot at Hastings Village Shopping Center is decorated with these.

Wonderful photo! I love looking up through trees, too. A canopy of color.
Based on the number of comments, you don't have to worry about words or titles today :-)

It's a wonderful shot. I posted a tree today as well, with a bit more foliage.

Willikers! Hey, Speedway, thanks for the sympathy.

Hi there, Jan, welcome. Thanks for stopping in on your daily walk!

Ms. M, I don't suppose I could get by with it every day but I appreciate the slack every once in a while.

Thanks, J Bar. That's a fluffy, healthy tree you posted today.

Speedway cracks me up.

Y'know, if you cranked the contrast on this shot & subtracted the chroma, it would look like one of those "drawings" we made in school—where you'd glop down a puddle of India ink & blow on it to channel thinner & thinner streams, 'til they resemble branches & twigs.

(Jeez, that took me almost 50 words to describe. It's late.)
