Zen Monday: #142

It's the day you experience the photo and share in the comments what you've learned. We call it Zen Monday.

Is this your first Zen Monday? Tell us what comes to mind--what the photo makes you think of or how it makes you feel. It might be helpful to click on the photo to enlarge it.

There's no right or wrong, no secret, no prize. Just have fun.

Oh, this is your hardest one yet. What does the sign say, furnished? I'll have to get back to you on this one.

the ivy previously took over the front of the house, has wandered to another more prosperous home, as has whatever was on the sign. the economy sucks so badly they can't even afford to re-post the sign saying "keep off the grass, it's the only good thing we have left!"

wv: was ironically ardentd, perhaps the past tense of ardent?

There, Hiker. I cropped it a little closer.

the family was so mad at the Easter Bunny last year for not bringing their favorite chocolate Easter eggs (See's Chocolate fudge) that they decided to not update the sign telling the Easter Bunny to stop here....

It's a smelly sign that only dogs can "read". It says, please pee on and around me but leave the rest of the lawn alone.

(I can't see any writing on the sign. And when I double click to see it larger, I get a slightly smaller image.)

I got nothing. That's just the day I'm having.

I'm at a loss, too. Guess I'm having the same kind of day as Margaret.

For the first time in months and months, I feel zero zen in my pen this Monday. I am so disappointed in myself. I shall try again next week.

"Unfinished" like it's surface, or "Unfurnished" as in necessary information. I drew a blank, too, like the sign.

Sign of the times?
This space for rent?
Fill in the blank?
Your name here?

Come on, you guys—it's not about the sign! Are you telling me you don't see the gorilla?

Speedway said...

Is the gorilla still in the room even if he didn't come to the party?

Petrea Burchard said...

You know how it's the teacher's fault if the pupils don't learn? Ah, well. So this one's not inspiring you. Bummer on me.

I'm not saying a gorilla doesn't live in the place.

Katie said...

"If you can read this, get off my lawn!"

When I checked back, the gorilla had in fact moved on. Shame. Beautiful silverback, sitting in the sun with a copy of the LA Times.

Invisible Gorilla
.

The sign might have once said "Unfurnished," with a few other indistinguishable words.

Funny, I was so excited about this one. I've taken this photo over and over again with different cameras and at different times of day in different lights. This sign is so old, so unreadable. Why is it still there? It fascinates me. Apparently the phrase, "To each his own" applies here.
