The first of every month, City Daily Photo blogs have a theme day. Today it's "My Favorite Part of Town." I have a lot of favorite places in Pasadena, but my number-one-tops is my block.
I love where I live. I love my home, my street, my neighbors and the way of life we share. We have something worth protecting.
J and I once thought we'd stay here until we make our fortune, then head to the greener pastures of San Marino or Beverly Hills. Now we know there are no greener pastures than our front lawn.
City Daily Photo bloggers around the world are participating in today's theme. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants. Find out Eric's favorite part of Paris, Fabrizio's favorite part of Torino, Ham's favorite part of London, etc. etc. etc. CDP is now 1355 blogs strong, so you can see pretty much anyone's favorite part of anywhere.

Great doggie angle to get down to the sidewalk level... I cannot recall the name of these riding toys, but they are quite familiar.
There is no place like home... I bet that Dorothy would have selected a similar shot from Kansas. Love your thought here.
Bises,

Merci, Genie. I definitely had to wash my jeans after taking this one. Oh--and the kids call them wiggle cars.
Stopped here first on the theme tour. This ought to be exciting. Headed to Las Vegas next.
Boz, on his way home from his visit with the Jetsons' dog Astro and his boy Elroy.
I wanna wiggle car.
I've been lucky enough to visit your "greener pastures" and I must agree. Love the POV and of course my Bozerino in this great shot.

How wonderful when the grass is greener on your own side of the fence.
Yeah, we likey. And Speedway, you're not far wrong. Boz has his own friends in the neighborhood, if not much autonomy.
So now Boz has two cars? You must be rolling in the green. (And the insurance! Oy yoyoy.)
Looks like a great place to be! I wonder how a wiggle car would do on the greenbelt??
love it! Boz taking stock of his harem of vehicles. I'd guess he doesn't *need* wiggle cars, I'm sure his tush wiggles *just fine* roaming the 'hood.
You're lucky to live in such a friendly neighborhood, especially one with children out playing. None let outside in my part of Pasadena.
I hope they make those wiggle cars in adult size too, because I want one.
It's not really us doing the rolling, Hiker, it's Boz. And it's not really green.
Is this what you mean, Ms. M?

Trish, you are so right. Boz has a provocative wiggle in his walk. He's not exhibiting it in this shot. Here, he's just hurrying to try to get out of the picture.
It is a friendly block, Bellis. When the weather's good it's especially nice, with parents and kids all out on the block at the end of the work/school day.
Can't help you on the adult wiggle car. Maybe something at Disneyland?
Boz looks like he's on a mission.
How wonderful that your favorite part of town is your own neighborhood. I'd say that makes you pretty rich, whether or not you're rolling in the green.
That boy got somewheres t'be. Chillun need pesterin!
Love your sentiments and feel the same. In fact I nearly posted a shot of my terrace but in the end the beauty of Menton and Gorbio got me, but essentially I feel the same as you and have great neighbours too, not to mention the dogs... aren't we lucky, Petrea?
Blessed is the person and the dog who can say this, who settled in the place just right.
Lucky, absolutely. John, Boz and I have all said it pretty much since we landed here--it feels like the right place. If many of our neighbors left that feeling might change, but we sure found a good spot.
Petrea, yes, I am referring to land with walking/biking paths within a city. Boise has a nice greenbelt that follows the Boise River:

Ms. M, that is a fantastic park! Every city ought to be a tad jealous of that.
