Zen Monday: #124

It's Zen Monday, the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what I think the photo's about.

I look for a photo worth contemplating or, failing that, something odd or silly. And I stay out of the comments box until the end of the day to avoid influencing the discussion, unless you people get totally out of control. So far that hasn't happened but there's a first time
for everything.

There's no right or wrong, we're here to have fun.

You may notice we have a guest photographer today. A warm round of applause, please, for Katie Murphy!

Photo of a charming enterprise with a familiar name. I like the hat on the mannequin, shipping probably costly. ??

About time, I say.

The wrong aspect of globalization: you can buy tee-shirts from Paree in Pasadena, maple syrup in Singapore, coconuts in Paris and hamburgers everywhere. I like the idea of only being able to find certain products in certain places, not the same standard stuff everywhere.... but I'm probably working against history here.

Oh dear, but this IS Paris !!!
Please forgive me for writing too quickly, LOL!
(all is well in the best of worlds)

I like the added handwritten "BO" that makes this Parisian souvenir stand BOBOS, always a funny name.

Looks like Hermes, where Oprah shops.

I love browsing in shops like that one. And I would SO buy one of those scarves :)

Incroyable! Your puppy is running a store in Paris while you think he's sleeping. He gives a good impression of being sad you're leaving the house and then quick, off to the internet to see how those scarves are selling.

Ah, Paris. Home to the Mona Lisa apron. I must have one.

the secret is out! Boz is an entrepreneur...in PARIS no less!

now *I* want to see him in one of those scarves!

well, that and I'd bet you'll want him to help pay the mortgage too! or at least for his bisquits!

What most folks don't know is that Paris is Pasadena-adjacent.

I want the Mona Lisa apron. It comes pre-smoked for barbecueing.

That place is going to the dogs.

This confirms what we've all suspected: our pets have secret lives apart from their time with us. I'd always thought one cat was journaling and that another wrote how-to books such as "Humans for Dummies."

But Boz, it turns out, is a multi-national entrepreneur, running his souvenir shop in Paris with the help of his partner, Slash the poodle. Of course, all profits go to his "Biscuits for Everyone!" program, and to provide scholarships to obedience schools, so homeless dogs get training to become adopted into "forever homes."

Good work, Boz! Good boy!

Your dog is becoming an icon worldwide! It's also a great name for iconoclastic puppy dogs. Fun Monday zen!

The colorful little souvenir shop on the Rue de Pasadeine is co-owned by Boz Scaggs and Boz Burchard.

They considered naming the joint Boz et Boz, but they got into a nasty fight from which Boz Scaggs has never fully recovered.

SHUT UP!!! I"m LOL at BOZ. :)

Now to tell you the truth, this looks like all the zillion souvenir places all over Paris. For the love.

When I saw this place I immediately thought "Ah ha! Now I know what Boz did before retiring to Pasadena to live the good life with Petrea and John!" Back when Boz owned this store he sold the most incroyable dog-themed Paris items like Eiffel Tower dog biscuits, postcards of the Mona Lisa as a Doberman, and of course the hottest seller -- black velvet paintings of French Bulldogs playing boules. At least the new owner kept the Boz name, even if they now just sell average Paris souvenirs. (Thanks Petrea for the invite to guest-host Zen #124!)

Katie, thank you so much for sharing this canine corner of Paris! I love love love this photo. Don't forget to tell Virginia where you took it.

My little entrepreneurial genius is currently licking his own saliva from his Nylabone. Chic.
