Zen Monday: #116
Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what I think the photo's about.
I look for a photo worth contemplating or, failing that, something odd or squirrely. And unless I absolutely must say something, I stay out of the comments box until the end of the day to avoid influencing the discussion.
There's no right or wrong. We're here to have fun.

"Oh crap! What do I do now???"
This city thinks of everything, even squirrel perches on the telephone poles.
Squirell!
woohooo! I got the first squirrel parking space on the pole! I roooooock! I rock, I rock, I rock. I'm totally...humnn, where IS everyone else? I thought the invitation said 7:30a? Didn't it? I could've sworn it said 7:30a! Now, where did I leave that invitation? Oh Lord, did I get the day wrong again?
Heyyyyyy, what are YOU looking at lady? Git yer eyes off MY spot!
Trish, that's hilarious!
The whole scene looks like an illustration from a children's book. Well done.
Another piece of guerilla art from the "Fork in the Road Gang."
It looks like an English pub sign for "The Squirrel." Acorn ales a speciality.
Boz bait.
"Too bad you can't climb telephone poles!" said to Tommy or Boz down below.
I love the color saturation in this photo.
Harvey always kept his eye on the horizon, pursuing the cutting edge of acorns, even though everyone told him he was nuts.
As he paused on his climb to the top of the pole, Jorge hears the buzz of the crowd below, their tension increased by the ringmaster as he eggs on their fears -- "Let's hear it for The Great Walnutto, the bravest of squirrels! Nay, not merely a squirrel, but an intrepid Sciurus carolinensis!"
"Who else dares to climb the pole and not just walk along the cables, but to scamper along the wires, dancing high above the humans' metal sarcophagi!"
And so, Jorge climbed, trying to erase his doubts as, rung by rung, he came ever closer to the cable that spanned the moving traffic below. Would he be able to make it all the way across without lying down? Or would his way be blocked by one of those pesky doves?
"All I wanted was a bag of acorns," he thought, "to get Mable and the kids through the winter. If I survive this, I'm gonna become a ground squirrel."
Je n'adore pas squirrels. Hope he falls in the street!
This was an iPhone shot ("the camera you have with you") and I had to mess with it to make the squirrel's features show up at all. He didn't get very far up that pole and I couldn't resist a photo while he sat there wishing Boz and I would leave. (Boz didn't notice him.)
I love the scenarios you all created. Except maybe Virginia's.
Well, maybe Jorge's personality will become a bit flattened by his ordeal.
And the word verification thing-y below says "perch."
Odd place for a weather vane. Doesn't look like it will turn easily. But then again, you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
