Oh boy, it's Zen Monday, the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what I think the photo's about.
I look for a photo worth contemplating or, failing that, something odd or silly. And unless I absolutely must say something I stay out of the comments box to avoid influencing the discussion.
There's no right or wrong. We're here to have fun. But I admit to some trepidation--surely I'm unleashing something awful with this one.

Oh, how offal! Did Boz point out the sign is discriminatory, in that it presumes dogs would be the only offenders?

This sign posted for Dogs over six feet tall.
Further, who the hell used NAILS to pound this stupid sign into the tree??
On our street, which is a the busy route to the Rose Bowl, over the years, many signs had been posted on trees using nails, our neighborhood voices arose in protest of this practice.
Now, the interruption to our quality of life is the six hundred+ buses that travel our 36 feet wide street during major event days.

Posting a no poop sign is the city's way of dealing with a slow economy...no need for poop bags!!!
I suppose we could cite them for posting an illegal sign on a city-owned tree, but hey, it's Zen Monday so I'll give them a pass!

one does wonder about the height of the sign - I posted one similar a few years ago - but what I see the woman wheeling the shopping trolly - she's so worried about the fact you've caught her in the act of stealing the trolly.
(Great observation, Gerald.) The dog sign is bizarre--and apparently not in conformity with city ordinances; the situation is ironic.

took a look at this at first while sitting at the internist's office while waiting...and waiting for my appt. Pic loaded and all I could think was they are warning "don't scare the sh!t out of the dog"?. The dog looks a bit terrified!

roofing nails? for a dog sign? obviously whomever attached it has never seen a tree weep sap from said nails...sigh
Like Pascal Jim, I first noticed the nails - FOUR nails - to keep a sign forever attached to an innocent tree. Then I noticed how deformed the dog appears to be, back half corgi, front half doberman. No way that dog could walk properly. Ugly sign embarrasses the tree.
I"m with Hiker, if your dog can climb a tree and take a big one off a limb.....more power to him. I'm thinking Boz is a slow mover so he's legal.

So there are some dogs in Pasadena that climb large trees to do their duty? Maybe that's why the woman with the grocery cart looks so worried; she forgot to bring her umbrella....
I wish some people would learn that we have come down from the trees, and to deposit your waste - whatever it is - on the ground below you is no longer acceptable.

Here I was expecting a day of poo jokes and we got tree huggers instead. Believe me, I'm not disappointed.

Not a secret. It's on the north side of Orange Grove Avenue just east of Garfield. But if you go there remember what Mark said.
