Boz Kerouac

Boz and I need a road trip and I don't see it happening soon enough.

Boz languished around the house yesterday, dying for some action. He didn't believe me when I told him it was too hot to go out, so to prove it I took him for a brief walk in the mid day. After one block he came home and threw himself on his bed, sighing like Camille.

He and I are both at the point where we need to do something else, something other than what we do day in and day out. It would be nice to get on the road and head out of town with no particular destination in mind.

I used to do that, just for a weekend. I'd fill my backpack, pick  a point on the map and head that way with no intention of actually arriving. That's how I discovered Randsburg, the PPJ Museum, the Salton Sea and the Cabazon Dinosaurs (before they evolved into a creationist museum). California is dotted with odd spots to investigate. Interesting places beckon from the roadside and if you allow yourself an unstructured trip, you take the exit when they call.

But you have to get on the road in the first place.

I think someone should invent a virtual road trip for you and Boz.

Sigh, just promise me you and Boz won't do a Thelma and Louise, please.

I took a virtual road trip looking at those links last night, Ann!

Life is too good, Shell.

J, I may just drag you to the PPJ museum. Much like the Grand Canyon, it can't be described in mere words.

Camping maybe? Cheap and lots of good things to sniff.

Please, Thelma and Louis, Shell.

Great photo, Petrea. I've got a fantastic book called Little Museums that lists a variety of obscure small places to visit. It is worth checking out.

Maybe, Margaret. We're inexperienced but game. And gamy.

Louie.

I'll take a look, Ben. Is it on Amazon? It sounds like my kind of book.

Here's your precipice—what's your hurry?

I am so glad I finally know Boz's last name.

just where IS that "like" button? have seen several dogs today doing just what Boz is doing.

and I'm assuming he's more of an it than a Louise or Louis?

how bout a day trip up to Big Bear, up hwy 38 and down around 18? this time of year, better to do it during the week if possible tho to avoid the amateurs.

Our pooches sure do love trips in the car. I have a similar picture of Tommy (although yours is much better). You can make a road trip out of driving to the beach. Leo Carillo State Park - Boz would love it.

J, if we go to Big Bear we can find a precipice.

Paula, we don't really know Boz's last name. He's been silent on the issue.

Trish, I finally figured out how to add the "share" button and you want a "like" button?

Oh yeah, Susan. Boz loves the beach! A day trip might be just the thing.

Then we'd have to call him Cliffie.

OOOH! You captured the cosmos!

Are you tellin' me you just went on the road to find what you find? THAT'S AMAAAAAAZING!

I did?

What a great shot! Makes me want to hit the road too.

I wonder what Boz is dreaming about in this great photo. As far as trips, I'm with Susan about a beach trip. Why not get up really early on Sunday to avoid traffic, pack some snacks, and head to the coast. You don't even need to make it a day trip, just a few hours of salty air and the sound of the waves will do wonders for the spirit. I bet Boz would have a blast.

We are in the process of instituting a plan. A very loose plan, but a plan.

Head up to Cambria, where most of the motels on the waterfront along Moonstone Beach Drive take pets. These people love pets and really cater to them: http://cambriashores.com/amenit.html I think my dog got more goodies and attention out of staying there than I did! Even just a long weekend will refresh you, Petrea.

I love Cambria! Thanks for the thought.

Oh poor Boz and you. Why dont you just hit the roads even just for a day as soon as the weather allows you..

Boz like me loves a good road trip. Ride to live. Live to ride.

You guys made a good start at least. Boz doesn't look even a little sad to be in that backseat.

I love this!:)

I used to worry about letting him get too far out the window but he's trustworthy. All he wants to do is smell everything.
