Love this. Is this your family portrait?

I'd kill for a shot like this! Just adore adore adore it. Oh well done, Petrea!

Absolutely enchanting!! I love it!!!
Brilliant!

(Although I didn't especially love trying to learn what Plato meant way back in Philosophy 101.)

I love this too.
Well seen and well done!:)

That's pretty wonderful, Petrea, J and Boz. Boz handles the stilts very well.

This is a stunningly beautiful shot! Perfection -- I LOVE it!

This should be on a wall to be enjoyed often.

Fabulous family photo! Most wonderful use of shadows I've ever seen.

This is simply amazing! But I'm mystified - if John took the photo, who's the man? A platonic friend? (groan...)

I can't stop staring at this photo. Just wonderful in every way.

This is really, really good. The lighting and focus is perfect. What a clever touch. Well done John.

John will be pleased by these comments. Family portrait? I guess so. We get these long shadows late in the day, and John has a brilliant eye.

Sorry, Dina, it seemed better to link you than try to explain--especially to those who had already taken Philosophy 101 (which I hadn't).

Nice!

That's me in my idealized form. Petrea needs no improvement.

I like the way that piece of grass didn't fall into shadow making what appears to be a collar for Boz.

Please excuse me for choosing not to walk into the Wikidiki labyrinth

This feels like an ancient image to me: Man, Woman, Dog. Simple and beautiful. Amazing!

Whoa! Who knew bell-bottoms were back in style?!

Super duper! Reminds me of the book jacket for Hammet's The Thin Man.

I'll tell John to check in again. These are lovely comments, bell bottoms and all. Thank you, everyone.

Yeah, wish I'd taken it.

Hmmm, late night radio talks about you Shadow People...

I guess if there were good food on the plato, there would not have been a quandary about the cave.

It's what you'd see if we got scanned at the Flintstones' airport—Bedrock International …

… or maybe all that's left of a trio of postnuclear geologists …

… but probably it's just what our kas do when we're sitting at home, in the AC: take Shadow Pooch for a skulk.

Greg, you've been listening to Art Bell.

I'm mesmerized by this.

Anthropologically, it could have been taken two million years ago.

And as a portrait, it couldn't be making a stronger statement than it does.

Good job, John!

Petrea Burchard said...

Thank you, Unseen and Kevin.

John doesn't check in here as often as I do so I'll let him know you said so. I love the picture, too. We need to start printing and framing around here.

Beautiful capture. I have tried several photos like this and not successfully I must say. I like this one alot.

John Sandel said...

hey, I mesmerized -K-! That's good, right?

Should we tell people we were stoned at the time?

Petrea Burchard said...

Sweetie, they can see the stones.

Heh.

(Um, is it just me, or are we alone in here? Everybody else seems to have moved on to your next post … it's just all echoey and abandoned …)
