Shape Shapes

My weekend's shaping up to be creative. I hope you get to do what you want to do, too.

Have a beautiful holiday!

What a fine shot and the monochrome is parfait, Sistah!

Thanks, you guys. This is another one that John pointed me to. I just pointed the camera. It's like he's got the eye and I've got the luck.

Love it. I was there & can testify: this work of art is the equal of the reality --- which is saying something.

Remember the Shaper in Gardner's Grendel? His nightly songs compacted the scyldings' lives -- drew their suffering like wire through the die of music. Thus Hamlet's instructions to the Players.

No photo can match reality for its mortal necessity. But an image or a song can equal the world by reflecting it. We're pitiful creatures; beauty is the only answer we can muster in the face of truth.

A cloud, some wires, a wall of bricks -- but to see through your eye. It's proof.

I remember the Shaper, sweetie. And Hamlet's instructions. And yours. I saw this through your eye, is what I'm saying.

Cool photo, and a delightful collaborative effort. Nothing like tag-team creativity. On that note, since the weather is finally good, I might head to my outdoor mosaic studio and see if creativity strikes.

Nice! I like creative weekends. The weather is so beautiful too!

Katie, I'll bet it will. It's unlikely you'll make much of a mosaic while walking along the wharf, for example, but at a mosaic studio you'll have better luck.

I have a feeling you'll get good shots this weekend, Vanda.

I think you've got the eye too.

It's so lovely that you and John see eye to eye, and keep an eye out for each other. And there's another eye in this story, the eye of the security camera that was filming you filming it.

After a big party at El Molino Viejo yesterday evening and another one today that we hosted in our garden, I've finally got time for a creative walk in Hahamongna when the sun goes down. Need to burn off all those calories I've eaten.

Fer sure, somewhere there's a security guard trying to load Photoshop onto his surveillance station: "What're those ijjts doin with them cameras ...?"

Petrea Burchard said...

Thanks, Margaret.

Bellis, it all sounds lovely. I think you must be having a good weekend.

We'd all better hope no security guard ever gets Photoshop loaded onto his station, is all I'm sayin'.

beautiful shot, tho when I got to looking at it, I think the fact that I'm filling out my absentee ballot got to me...all I could think about was "here comes Prop 16"...PG&E is proposing and supporting it but calling it the "taxpayers right to vote"...and your pix of the elec standard overlooking the light overlooking the security camera...just took me right there...gotta get out more I guess!

wv: summing...summing up this proposition season...feh! but a great B&W pic!

Wonderful. It's really a lovely shot. I like the play with the shadows.

I hear you, Trish. I hope people don't fall for the prop-aganda.

Thank you, Steffen. It was one of those I wasn't sure of when I took it, but when it appeared on my computer screen I knew I had something I liked.
