One of the perks of having a blog is that when I have something to promote I get free advertising!
I'll be giving a salon-type talk (comfy/cozy) on Blogging for Your Business: Ten Tips for Putting Your Best Cyberfoot Forward, Thursday, April 1st at the Pasadena Women's City Club. If you've been thinking about starting a blog, or if you've already been blogging but nobody's reading, come join us. We'll discuss:
how to use a blog as PR;
can your blog make a living on its own?
blogging as online networking;
blogging etiquette
and more.
Please come! I'd love to see you. The cost is $6.00 and it includes the talk and tasty appetizers. You can't beat that! There's also a cash bar (this is part of the comfy/cozy). You can come as early as 6:00pm for networking, but be sure and drift in no later than 7:00 when the talk begins. We should be finished by about 8:00.
This is also a good time to check out the Women's City Club if you've been thinking about joining. It's a great place for business women to network, bring clients, and create and participate in programs. They're having a membership drive the first part of this year with discounts and perks (click on the red shoe to learn more).
Reserve now for my talk on April 1st: (626) 796-0560 or wccpas@sbcglobal.net. The Women's City Club is at the edge of the Fuller Theological Seminary campus, 160 N. Oakland Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101. There's free parking in the rear. Enter the second driveway south of Walnut on Madison on the west side of the street. Dress is business casual (no jeans).
Any questions? Oh yeah--it may be a women's club but men are more than welcome. It is my talk, after all.

That is sure a welcoming, inviting entrance! I'd like to enter there, and your evening event sounds lovely. I'm wishing you well and hope you meet some great folks through your talk.

I agree with Kim it is very inviting and how pleasant that men are able to attend.
If I could be there, I would in a flash, Petrea!! A wonderful, educational and comfy/cozy time will be had by all.
I wish i could have been there.
Looks welcoming, and an interesting evening.
Best of luck!
Well if i could have hopped a plane, I'd be there. All sounds wonderful. A great idea and a social situation too.
Kim, I've met some great folks through blogging so I wouldn't be surprised. That's the front door of the Women's City Club which is in the Blinn House, one of Pasadena's Craftsman mansions.
Hi Stuart--things are always more pleasant with men there. Well, usually.
Shell, if I'm not too nervous I'll take a picture and post about it.
Thank you, Gunn.
Thanks, Jilly. One of the Club members (named Jill!) heard me give the talk at Business Boot Camp. It was her idea for me to do it at the Club. Nice of her to organize it, I thought.
I'll be there.
You will? Oh yay! Bring business cards because I've already told at least one attendee about your writing services.
I'll be there too.
Unfortunately, I'm a dog, not a woman. So, I probably don't meet the qualifications to come to the Women's Club.
Yay Susan! There will be time for attendees to contribute opinions, as well, because I know you have experience with this.
Cafe, service dogs are allowed. Then again, you have another persona I'm aware of and he could come.
Sound like s wonderful event! Hope it goes well. If I lived nearby, I would attend. :)
Hoping to make it.
Oh, I'd love see and hear your talk ... perhaps it will be videoed and put on YouTube?
The women's club location looks very inviting!
Blinn House is beautiful, I love to stand near the staircase and look up at that incredible glasswork at the landing during the day. It should still be light at 6 pm. Wish I could make it, but I'll be over at USC all evening putting on my own event (LA AIA Technology)
It's really a lovely house. A lot of thought went into repeating shapes in the glasswork, the archways, the stairways, the tile. Artistry.
As for videotaping for YouTube, someone asked me that on Facebook! Not this time, Chuck, but maybe one of these days. A good idea.
Thanks, P. This dog is here to serve & protect.
If my schedule permits, I'll walk over there. But if some of the women get nasty with me & say, "NO Dogs allowed!!", I'll just say I'm Boz.
I hope to be there.
What a lovely location. Since there's still no high-speed train between SF and LA I'll have to miss your talk (darn it!), but I do hope you'll post more about the evening (and photos of the tile and glass etc. inside the Blinn House). I'm especially interested to know if I'm breaking any blogger etiquette rules that I don't know even about!
I've put it on my calendar!!!
Any questions? Yeah ... who chose the date? Are they friend or not so ...
Listen Pup, if anyone gets nasty with you just sic me on 'em.
Shanna, that would be great! I hope so.
Chieftess, another yay!
Hee hee, Julie, the salons are always the first Thursday of the month so...yeah, that would be bad, wouldn't it? Show up all prepared and...April Fool!
Wonderful entrance. I like the branches of the tree. I'd like to be a fly on the wall... ha ha ...
Steffen, men are welcome, of course. You wouldn't have to be a fly! But I guess you'd need wings to get here.
What a beautiful photo. I like the way you used a tree to frame your shot. That house looks like a real gem. I would love to tour it.
Thanks, Mark. Here's a bit more about the Blinn House: http://womenscityclub.com/location.php
I don't know if they give tours or not but they ought to, at least every once in a while.
