Zen Monday: #77

Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what I think the photo's about. There's no right or wrong. It is what it is, whatever that means to you.

I look for a photo worth contemplating or, failing that, something odd or silly. And I
stay out of the comments box for most of the day to avoid influencing the brilliantly intellectual path of the discussion.

As I post each new Zen Monday photo I add a label to last week's to identify it if necessary--if I know what it is.

I will probably do the same to my stilettos. IF I had any stilettos.

Dr Zartung sighed and went back to the drawing board. His teleportation experiment had failed again.

Those are fabulous shoes, Petrea.
Did they fit you?

Wait! You only need to leave one behind if you want Prince Charming to find you.

Desiree, just what I was thinking! Walk of shame.

Oh, the Red Shoes! And in SUCH a nice neighborhood. And not a scratch on them, must have been worth it to lose them in the throes of...or maybe the fit was just too awful.

I immediately thought of the Kate Bush song “The Red Shoes”

Oh she move like Diva do
I said I’d love to dance like you
She said just take off my red shoes
Put them on and your dream’ll come true
With no words, with no song
You can dance the dream with your body on
And this curve, is your smile
And this cross, is your heart
And this line, is your path

I didn't expected from Pasadena's Santa Claus such shoes! And even to lose them! :) Have a nice Christmas! Cheers!

Dorothy groaned, nursing her aching head. She cautiously opened an eye and looked around. She way lying in flower bed, her blue dress rumpled and dirty. She knew that going out with the lollpop "kids" for that farewell drink was a bad idea. Now, where the hell did she leave her shoes?

Must have been quite the holiday party last night!

she said she was done and she meant it. she left her shoes right where she said it and moved on, leaving the memory of her red shoes and that moment for all to see and remember.

ok, wv:burpfaat...burp fart? I'd suggest if she did all those things in those shoes, there's a REASON she left them behind!

Louis la Vache said...

Uh, Virginia!, here's your shoes!

And you thought you left them in Paris!

Virginia said...

Oh my dear Louis,
Oui, I left them right there in Paris ( I can't remember exactly where) when Peter drug me one too many km around the streets of Paris! A girl just has to kick her shoes off once in a while , n'est-ce pas?? :)
( Sadly, the real truth is my poor little feet can hardly walk the streets of Paris in even halfway cute shoes these days, much less these FM pumps! Sad but true)

BTW, I LURV me some red shoes. These are a bit high pour moi, but I'm likin' them just the same.

Grab the shoes & run!

or...the party's over, it's time to call it a day...

PS - I know what you mean about posting accident shots. It seems too intrusive on people's privacy.

FA said...

I wonder what she had to run to or from?!?!?

Ms M said...

For some odd reason of science, it was Dorothy who melted instead of the Wicked Witch...

AmyR said...

Sometimes you need to run fast! Especially if there are zombies involved.

I hate to say good night. This has been one of my favorites. These shoes were so good I was afraid you'd accuse me of staging them, but no. There they were. I didn't touch them, though it was tempting to try them on.

I always like to welcome new commenters...welcome, Antonia, all the way from Sofia! Nice of you to stop by. I think it's cold in Bulgaria today.

And I must say it's a red letter day when Elvis Costello visits my blog.

Dorothy had given up! They were killing her feet!

I can't tell if I was being goofed on, but I thought my comment was clever. My Zen reaction was Elvis' (Angel's Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes song, but the I thought of his Pump It Up. So if anyone thinks they saw me leave those shoes on the sidewalk, it was probably some other 6'4" 275lb. guy in high heels. I'm glad that's cleared up.

Petrea said...

I'm glad you cleared that up, too, Greg. I think someone was funnin' on you in a good way. I'm always glad to be reminded of a good Elvis Costello song.

Rudolph had to ditch the shoes during a training run. He got mocked enough for the red nose, but if they found out that he was a cross-dressing reindeer, he was done for.
