- Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
- The dogs are running somewhere, and somewhere cats don't bite,
- And somewhere it's not raining, and somewhere children shout;
- But there is no joy in Pooville -- Boz refuses to go out.
My apologies to Ernest Thayer.

Well, İf it is snow on the ground, he has a point :))
Oh, that's snow? Y'all don't know what snow is!! I haven't seen the ground in 3 weeks and probably won't see it again until at least April..
Boz, you can do it! Hope you make it through!
Yeah, what's that white stuff. I first thought snow, but I don't think so.
Dogs are so funny - my labrador retriever cross would jump into the smallest puddle, swim the widest river, but refuse to go out in the rain. Well, Boz, the sun is shining today and you can go look at the mud that's come down from the burnt hillsides.
(I can't believe there were 4 mountain bikers on the CLOSED trail upriver from JPL yesterday afternoon. They had to be rescued when the water level rose and they couldn't get back.)
I didn't mean for anyone to think that was snow. The photo was taken last summer on a happier day when there was joy in Pooville; it's fluffy white stuff that comes off the trees in the park.
Christie, I feel for you! I remember those days! It gets soooo coooold!
Boz has been miserable for a couple of days, Bellis, but it looks like we've got a reprieve. I heard about those bikers and some hikers in Eaton Canyon. What are people thinking? Bad enough to go on a closed trail on a sunny day, but how dense do you have to be to venture into the burn areas when it's pouring rain?
Jane Goodall got hilarious footage of chimps at Gombe sitting in forest clearings, in pouring rain, miserable. Apparently they didn't think to move under the trees. Somewhere the wires of natural selection got crossed … but the sun's out this a.m., and Mr. 33% is agitating for a maraud …
P.S.—I think it's the other way 'round: Ernest Thayer owes all of us an apology.
Pooville, haha!
Wilson don't like the rain much either...

All the rain and mud? Can't blame Boz for wanting to hide indoors at all!
I know how he feels.
Seriously. It's impossible to get my dog to go potty out in the rain. Although it's completely understandable. I wouldn't potty in the rain.
Boz may not feeling joy but you got a rise out of me with your changed ending.
Lovely photo
We've got a rain-free day and Uncle Bumps is about to get his maraud in the mud.
Sometimes I'm inspired by a photo, sometimes I'm inspired by events and I go digging for a photo. This was the latter. I've got a bazillion pictures of Boz marauding. I could do a Boz blog, but even Boz wouldn't read that.
I think you should do a Boz calendar.
John says we'll call it "The Boz Book of Daze."
Haha, good title!
That'll be $12.95, please.
Boz is very sensible.
So it doesn't really rain cats and dogs, huh?
Bad enough it rains water. If it rained animals we'd have to feed him Prozac.
That made me laugh out loud! Thank you.
Sorry, I drew a blank on Zen Monday but thought I'd drop in to Pooville. Still no joy?
Hi Becky! Good to see you.
We had some joy later in the day yesterday, Shell. Still have some caked-on mud to prove it. And more sun today.
