Zen Monday: #70

Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what the photo's about. I look for something worth thinking about or, failing that, at least something odd or silly. Sometimes you have to look closely.

As I post each new Zen Monday photo I'll add a label to last week's to identify it if necessary--if I know what it is.

I have nothing quick or witty ~
just this brief and useless ditty.
Love the lights, so soft and pretty,
Now it's time for me to quitty.

Do you remember that last scene in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories? (or nearly the last scene) Somewhere, outdoors, lit by a string of naked light bulbs... This is that scene, after the location and scale have gone through some kind of warp drive and back and sideways again.

Frank Sinatra is on air, I go out with two cups of wine, and my love.... my love....

"I felt transparent, swinging in the porch swing. It was a warm summer evening. Late it was, past midnight. Wennie had turned on the party lights under the sycamore. There was no party. "Just because," she said. "Looks nice, doesn't it?" "I don't know," I said. "I'm transparent."

She peered out into the night, through the doors he'd angrily exited only moments ago. She'd pleaded with him not to do it, but he'd gone anyway. Where's the phone? She needed to warn Matt rightaway...

As dawn approached, her Faerie lover slowly disappeared until only his white underpants were left, and they, too, were gone by the time her parents rose.

You can't fool me, I know that's Altadena...I think I see my feet in the background.

Funny how the swing sort of looks like a diaper.

Another party, another house, another cat to which I'm allergic. How nice that they put lights in the backyard.

She dearly hoped no one would mention the diaper swing. But, alas, Clifford had already partaken in the buck fifty scotch and was feeling chatty.

Dinner parties. Sigh.

Oh I love the comments today! We have this series of poetic thoughts, then...underpants and diapers!

Yes, Marley, it's a swing. And Cliff, yes, you know it's Altadena, although, dodger blue, I don't remember a cat. But I'd know your voice anywhere, friend.

A round of shots for all, from the expensive bottle! Thank you for your Zen Monday contributions.
