Zen Monday: #66

Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what the photo's about. I look for something worth thinking about or, failing that, at least something odd. And sometimes you have to look closely.

As I post each new Zen Monday photo, I'll add a label to last week's to identify it if necessary (if I know what it is).

I thought someone decided to decorate the trash bin with dried flowers.

Many, many thanks for your messages of support and concern for us, Petrea. They really meant a lot to me. It is going to take a much time and effort to help so many get back on their feet.

I hope the relationship lasted longer than the flowers.

Everything has its time and place before tossed aside with yesterdays news.

I'm thinking AH's post from last week about the older gentleman and the house nearby...on the porch...holding a beautiful bouquet to atone for whatever his sins might have been and a little VO to make the night go more smoothly...all tossed out by the curb when things didn't go as planned.

The trash-can florist was not affected by the recession.

Well, now we know where all the flowers have gone.

It's not you, it's me.

Man on porch's appeasement gift went straight onto the sidewalk.

I love this blog cross-pollination!

Oops, forgot Trish got there first.

It's ok Bellis...the more the merrier!

as I was driving to an appt this morning I thought about an email I'd gotten from a friend talking about recycling. How we so often *just* miss the mark in making a big difference in recycling (i.e. leaving a metal lid on a glass jar, which is then often tossed, instead of recycled by the recycling crew).

Hence...the Smiths were SO close to getting their green waste recycled...missed it by thatmuch! (honorable mention for the VO bottle)

bedose...be dosing us with VO again, eh?

One man's withered, dried out, no-longer-needed-for-romantic-purposes flower arrangement is another man's treasure.

Out with the old, in with the VO.

Hi Hilda. I'll bet you've gotten a lot of well-wishes over the last few days. Thanks for your photos of the volunteers and your updates on Manila.

Thank you all for your participation in Zen Monday. I'm always so pleased to find something odd like this. This one's a little sad, I think, but maybe it depends on the interpretation. Maybe she treasured the flowers for weeks until they dried up. Maybe the liquor bottle has nothing to do with the roses.

I guess it's hard to tell; the bottle is actually labeled "XO." I couldn't get close enough to it and get all the flowers in the picture, too.

Cliff, relatively obscure and as delightful as usual.

Cross-pollination is appropriate for flowers. What did the old guy say, Hiker? "Shake it, toots?" I don't remember where Karin posted that comment but for those who don't know, she jogs past the home of an elderly gentleman who apparently freaks her out a little.

His party is by no means over.

Here's what I think of your stinkin' flowers.
