See My Shells

I met Shell Sherree over at Paris Daily Photo. I don't remember if I visited her blog first or she visited mine, but she's well entrenched in the Pasadena blogging community now--a regular over at Finnegan Begin Again as well as the Altadena Hiker. I've seen her hanging out at Cafe Pasadena, too, and I've seen all these folks over at Shell's place. She's practically a Pasadenamanian, or she would be, if Pasadena were in Brisbane, Australia.

Shell is a talented painter. You can see her works on her blog (and purchase select items at her Etsy shop). On September 29th I won her first year blogaversary contest. The prize was a Shell Sherree original! It arrived the other day from Australia in a pretty package, with a bonus: a Shell Sherree original with my name on it.
(I'd seen it on the blog. Shell used it to announce the winner and I wasn't shy about asking for it.)

Thank you, Shell Sherree. These are swell and lovelee. I'll get 'em mounted, framed and into a place of honor (instead of the porch) asap.

Congrats, P. I really do like her style of artistry. Yet, IMHO, a K9 holding up your name card instead wood have looked better.

(Anyone who is a friend of the French macaron is a friend of mine - near or far. Thanks ShSh!! )

Oh, thank you, Petrea! I'm touched and honoured and glad you're enjoying them ~ your photos make the packaging and contents look so purdy! You're such a fine {and talented} lot over there, it's a joy to drop in. As Virginia says, neat folks we meet, indeed.

{Cafe, I understand your bias, and thank you for forgiving me in the name of macarons.}

Cafe, it's understood. I'll hang it high where Boz can't get to it.

See there, V? You're pretty well entrenched in the Pasadena gang as well, you know. I wonder how that happens, but I'm glad it does. At first I thought bloggers were on their best behavior, then I started meeting them in person. Turns out they're just nice people.

Aysegul, that's exactly what I'm talking about! Now you'll visit Shell on her Australia blog and perhaps become her friend, and around the world it goes. It's wonderful.

I forgot to mention: the little tags in the top photo are personalized messages, one for each painting. Another bonus. Thank you, Shell.

Oh you horrible show-off. You know I have a low envy threshhold.

Yes, Shell like Virg is one of the gang.

Hiker, I have to do something to keep up. Don't you know I want to be as funny as you? There's gotta be some way to compensate.

You must think I'm sooooo easy.

Your Shells are lovely. :-)

Are you kidding, Hiker? Do you know how terrified I am of this barefoot thing? I'm desperately trying to come up with a backpedal to get out of it.

Yes they are, cali, and you're welcome to say so. It's not my brag because I didn't make them.

Oh hello hello, Mme Benaut! Welcome! I may or may not deserve them, but I'm keeping them no matter what.

Ms. M, I believe you'll find Shell Sherree's blog fully charming.

You know someone's an artist when there packaging is so lovely you don't even want to rip into it.

Petrea Burchard said...

Isn't that the truth, Susan! I don't know that I deserve congratulations, as it was the luck of the draw. But I'm happy for my luck!
