It has been a very tough week thanks to the Station Fire. I wanted to post a picture of something beautiful and sweet. Yesterday at dusk we sat on our front curb and visited with our neighbor, Olive. She let me snap photo after photo and I got my wish.
Here she is in color.

And you sure did find something beautiful and sweet! Hello, Olive.
Beautiful photographs. ;-)
Truly precious photograph. Nothing is sweeter than the angelic face of a small child.
Funny how a picture can completely change your frame of mind. Thanks for the beautiful change of pace today.
Olive always makes my day, and yesterday my day needed to be made.
Nice, Petrea. Kids are the magic that fuels the world. What a beautiful girl, and what a beautiful name.=)~~bernadettte...
This was a great idea! Picked me right up.
What a lovely reprieve.
We're sharing a brain today, P!
What beautiful portraits. I love her name, too. I needed this today. Thanks.
Knock, knock!
Who's there?
Olive.
Olive who?
Olive you!
Look in those eyes—down into the deep of her … the future's in there, unspinning in whorls, in unwoven threads. She's, what, 3 now? If she lives 90+ years, she could see the year 2100.
How much can change in a lifetime? Consider that when Charles Dickens was born, Thomas Jefferson was still alive. When Dickens died, Sigmund Freud was already a teenager.
Did Dickens live a long life? 70? 80? 90? Try … 58.
Thus, a life. Thus, history.
Now look in Olive's eyes again …
Olive her, too!
She's not yet a year and a half, I don't think. A long and lovely life ahead of her and already so much to do. I hope she'll remember us. Selfish!
Hey Cute Little Miss Olive. I'll bet you like living near Petrea and John! ( Or as we would say down here...
Miss Petrea and Mr. John) :)

Clifford beat me to it. I was trying my best to come with something. Does she have a copy of "Olive the Other Reindeer"? ( I hope that's the title) If not, you need to run find her one!
Thanks for the uplift Petrea. I love how her bow is a bright and cheerful yellow. So adorable!
What a cutie!
Important: Fire meeting tonite! Ck my blog if interested.
… um, okay—but what d'you think of Olive …?
What sweet pictures of her! Certainly a gift to all of us :)
I'll find out about that, Virginia. Now I know what to get her for Christmas--speaking of gifts, Ms. M.
Thanks, CAfe, for updating. I can't make the meeting and will check your blog tomorrow for the news. You've been diligent about letting people know and I appreciate it.
O-live …
