Theme Day: Empty

Today is theme day for City Daily Photo bloggers, and the theme is "empty." How fortuitous that I went on a secret picnic yesterday. Before we even began to eat, we emptied the first bottle of wine.

I'll tell you more about the picnic tomorrow. For now, check out the other City Daily Photo bloggers around the world who participated in this theme.

The toes give that added touch. Seems you picnicked with a FULL heart.

Now why am I not surprised by your choice? Love the foot...

My second choice were two empty wine bottles and messy frying pan scraped clean. I like the sound of this picnic ... especially the way it started and the naked toes ...

Must come back tomorrow ... Julie: mental note, please ...

WV: wootap

I see French writing on a bottle. Aah, that alone is enough to cheer me!

Looks like fun.

My kind of fun -:) Looking forward to the next episode in this saga. The human element adds much intrigue to this image ... very nicely composed, Petrea.

I don't know, Hiker, are they your toes? You should know your own toes for heaven's sake. They're either yours or Chuck's.

Ah yes, the freelance life. A picnic on a Tuesday. I was thinking "I never get a day off." But I get little snippets in the middle of days, and I love my work. So it's a trade-off.

Thanks, Chuck, I just liked the sunlight dappling on the glass and the blue. Summer is here.

What a great shot - from the bottles, to the old blankets, to the toes in the corner. This picture is far from empty!

Ooo, this is going to be one of my all-time favorites, just for the story/stories it tells/can tell. Lovely composition, colors, subject, light, etc.

By the way, I'm self-employed, but I don't get to take my wife out for Tuesday picnics! I think I need to change my line of work...Petrea, you want to do career consulting?

Great choice for theme day. There are few things sadder than an empty wine bottle.

Jean Spitzer said...

This is such a happy-looking empty, with the bare foot and the berries.

Petrea Burchard said...

Clueless sees sad, Jean sees happy. I like that.
I'm kind of wishing I'd taken the lid off the strawberries, but I didn't want to stage anything. Just took the picture.

Sounds like the perfect picnic! I'll raise a glass to that!

I've left you another comment about your tomato plant :)

What fun! And it seems like you got the theme just right.

Looks like a saucy game of "spin the bottle" to me.

Funny, I didn't see the toes at first and I'm a real foot fan. Laurie comissioned me once to draw a portrait of her feet. Gotta get it on my site.

Toes and wine go well together!

You obviously had more fun creating your theme day photo than I did!

Ms M said...

Ah, that looks like a REAL picnic...

Petrea Burchard said...

Marley, I'll answer on the tomato post tomorrow.

Shanna, surely I've met foot fans before, but I believe this is the first time I've heard of commissioning a portrait of one's feet.

hee hee, PA.
