Crisis Control

This has been a week of crises worldwide and on the home front. The latter culminated with a trip to the Animal Emergency Clinic last night, where Kumba the cat is in charge.

I won't go into detail. I'll just tell you that our beloved Boz is currently in his bed, licking his underbeneath parts as if nothing ever happened. He's fine.

Speaking of worldwide crises, please join us Sunday as bloggers worldwide express their support for freedom in Iran.

I was already wrung out before the clinic episode so I'll keep this short. To deal with my end-of-crisis-week stress, since I don't have Boz's talents, I'm going to take it easy on myself this weekend.

Uh oh, this doesn't sound good.
Be well, dear Boz. Rest up, dear Petrea. May you know no more such crises.
Even the photo is a bit ominous.

It's been that kind of week for me too. Hoping the weekend brings better days.

I'm relieved to hear Boz is doing fine, even if his mum is taking a bit longer to recover. So stressful when our dear animals are having difficulties. Take care and sleep well, Petrea! {From the shadow alone, you can see Kumba is in charge.}

Bloat? It can be common in boxers.

So glad everything is ok again; I know he means the world to you!

Like a lot of people, I've learned way more from animals in regards to acting as if nothing happened or, more to the point, living in the moment, than I ever learned from any book or spiritual practice.

It's been the most crappy of weeks and it's not over yet. I'm leaving town. Glad Boz pulled through. I recognize the cat

poor Boz...and mom too!

years ago friends had their golden "fixed" but we ended up having to pick her up from the vet, as they had their own medical emergency. The 6 mo old pup looked at us and bounded up into the truck as if she hadn't had her undercarriage sliced and sewn up. the pup ran and played but did sleep quite well that night.

lotsa rest and love for y'all

Did he eat something he was not supposed to?

Oh poor Boz! Whatever he did I'm glad he's better and seems to be taking it in stride. I hope you recover quickly too! Yes be good to yourself all weekend.

Hope Boz (and you) get plenty of R&R this weekend. Take good care.

Thank you all for sending Boz (and me) the get well messages. He's fine today. Though he adores eating whatever he finds (that's how he figures out what things are), that wasn't yesterday's problem. (I haven't seen the bloat thing, Karin, but now I know to watch for it.) It was major muscle spasms. They frightened me and John, but they were gone by the time we got to the clinic, and Boz was all like, "Whut?"

I don't know. Pinched nerve? Charlie horse? A crick in his neck? The doctor didn't know because Boz didn't show her. But he was worn out today. Wine tonight for me and J.

Whew. What I've found with the boxer I love is that they are fearless and fragile. She has a folder THIS THICK at both emergency and vet.

Boz will do better, I think. He's a half breed.

Boz is not fearless. Reckless, maybe, but not fearless. His fragility is in his sensitive skin and tummy, and his tender emotions.

"Hayaff breeed! Thats awl ah evuh heard..."

Just saw this. Do hope Boz is OK. Scary when you don't know what it is. Sounds like he's OK now. Hope you poured yourself a large glass of something...

Yipes, glad Boz is okay. I hope your heart rate and blood pressure have recovered by now.

We've all recovered and are resting comfortably today. We'll take some exercise when it cools off. Very hot today!

I had to leave a comment, Petrea....poor Boz! Glad he's okay, too.

We had something similar happen to our Pepe (who is also a halfbreed, tho he's a SharPei halfbreed). Uncontrollable spasms...OMG, we thought he'd swallowed something and had choked! As soon as we got him to the vet, he was fine. Same demeanor as Boz...just a minor (to him) shakeup. I was frazzled for weeks.
