Altadena Party Night

Altadena did indeed have a party last night. I did indeed go. I did (indeed) have such a good time that I'm too tired to stay up and write about it right now. I have lot of pictures I want to show you and I will indeed do so in the coming days.

I have loved Altadena since John and I discovered it in 2001 (it had been there a long time, but we hadn't bothered to look). Last night I discovered things about Altadena that had been there all along, but I hadn't bothered to notice before. I discovered new things to be excited about, too.

I'll tell you more about it when I get some rest, but I imagine by then the other bloggers will have beat me to the punch. That's all right. As long as you know about it it's fine with me. Don't miss out on all the fun like I did all this time. There's too much good stuff in Altadena. Indeed, you must bother to look.

Bill Westphal's lovely pics are on Tim Rutt's Altadenablog today.

Petrea, the way you get excited about things is indeed exciting.
And as Bilbo said, “There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. You certainly usually find something, if you look, but it is not always quite the something you were after.”
Good night. Sleep well.

You mean, which purse did I hold?

That has a charming, almost rustic look about it, Petrea. I'll look forward to seeing and reading more in the fullness of time ... sweet dreams.

Good time was definitely had by all. And Mike, you should know that KB NEVER takes a bad picture -- or fails to hold a purse with duty and charm!

Dina, does it show? Sometimes I'm like a kid. I love finding stuff! I found Altadena long ago, but discovered even more about it last night. It's like a secret fort in the back yard that you keep your treasures in. Your Tolkien quote is exactly right, and very much like the kind of traveling I love to do.

Cafe, I wasn't able to get the shot I wanted of the Altadenahiker. You know, that picture of her holding my purse for me.

Thanks, Jilly! More to come.

Virginia, I meant to take something charming but I took the usual blackmatcheseverything. I filled it with chocolates, then forgot to give them out.

GinaB, thank you for being so supportive. It would be nice to be #1, although the current #1 is Susan C, a commenter here whose blogs I love. She's nominated for Cancer Banter (by the same person who nominated PDP). You wouldn't think cancer and recovery could be all that interesting, charming, or even fun, but Susan makes it so.

Hiker did have a piece of chocolate, I think.

Shell, that's Altadena: charming and rustic. Like I said, a secret treasure fort in Pasadena's backyard.

Tim, Karin failed to hold my purse but that wasn't her duty. I think we can all agree, whatever she does she does with charm. She can't help it.

Lori, thanks for inviting me! I had a blast, and am grateful you made me a part of it.

Ted, you're an honorary Pasadenan now.

Miss H: I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE GALLERY! I'm shouting. I'm saving the pics. I loved it loved it.
