Zen Monday: #39
Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what the photo's about.
There's no right or wrong. If the photo evokes something in you, that's all it is.
As each new Zen photo is posted, a label is added to last week's to identify it (if I know what it is).

Either what is Petrea's favorite donut shop or comfort food?
or,
What is now a closed for bizness, business?
But it's not a donut, it's a dougnut!! If it was in the San Fernando Valley, it would make perfect sense.
The alternatives were: Open without a banner at all; cut the banner and offer coffee only; put a big black X across the g; put a caret before the N and add the H; pretend it's a marketing device because maybe you'll end up on a famous blog.
I don't care how they spell, Hmmmmm..Dougnuts.

Can't think of anything creative, 'cuz I just tried their "new" donuts this weekend. Better than some of the other places around NE Pasadena, but mostly pretty standard fare. I get points with the kids when I run out at 7:30 a.m. and get donuts; I lose points when the sugar high drops like a lead balloon and I have to deal with the fallout.
The space the donut shop is in was formerly a satellite office for a Century 21 realtor; obviously more donuts are consumed in an economic downturn than houses.
I didn't even catch the missing "h" until Vanda pointed it out.
Poor Doug!
does Doug know his nuts are on sale with coffee?
and I suppose with this economy, as with old time telegrams, letters are money and we're all trying to save money these days. Those of us dyslexic folks understood anyway.
but, wasn't Gladstones a bagel place out in Arcadia?
Ohhh. Zen Monday. I got excited before I even opened the link. I'm with Pascal Jim....Ohhhhh....Dooonnuts.
Now with 50% more Doug...
I missed the "Doug" until everyone pointed it out.
But I do notice that someone has added something to the sign by hand- looks like it might be "Fer real".
So maybe Doug had better watch out, after all.
Doug-Nuts? Are those a new type? Maybe they're a So Cal thing, but up here they are unheard of!
Petrea's coffee shop quest continued. It was marked down due to bad spelling!
Even if I knew Doug I wouldn't want em in my Coffee!!
I don't know about gladstone but I am glad when I have a coffee and a doughnut. Maybe some police hanging around in there too they like doughnuts dont they.
Thanks for catching their misspelling, Vanda!!
Today, I'm gonna get me some comfort food - after I bark at a postperson for the day.
(MH, is that what residents call Dist #3 now?)
Gladstone Doug-nuts; now there's something you don't hear of often...
And a grand opening to boot. I wonder how you open a Doug-nut? Are there special nutcrackers available?
OUCH!
I blame having seen this photo this morning before I left for jury duty for me having bought a donut with my coffee. I don't eat donuts! I guess I felt bad about the possibility of them going out of business if I didn't buy a donut.
Hi Petrea! I've been perusing your acting career this Zen Monday! Your website is really looking good. :) I've been to your blog before but I can't remember if I've ever commented so I thought I should leave my "x" . Anyone who's knows me also knows "my x" is more like one humongous monologue so that's my brand new joksie.
As for the coffee shop. It would not deter me to eat a doug nut there as I am extremely tempted to by anything that so much as resembles dough!
The other day we visited a church that had those old fashioned icing coated ones in the foyer, and the second my family had their backs to me I grabbed one of those suckers and proceeded to cram the whole thing in my mouth! It was a hideous thing to witness I'm sure. Usually I'm much more respectable but the little dickens caught me by surprise. ;)
Another Zen Monday comes peacefully to a close. Perhaps not so peacefully for Doug.
Thank you all for contributing your insight, your wisdom and your philosophy today.
I suggest, Ted, that almost anything is good with coffee.
Miss Havisham, you have a head for business.
and Shan, if the little dickens was free there's no one here who can blame you.
Doug: my apologies.
A cup and a squeeze might please those glad stones.
I took a picture of that from my car last week, but it didn't turn out. I'm glad you caught it!!
I considered sending it to an ex-boyfriend named Doug, but I decided against it. Perhaps slightly inappropriate at this point.
I'm here awfully late but I'm so doug-gone happy I stopped by ~ thanks for all the laughs!
USElaine, now I feel a bit sheepish going by for a doughnut. I hope they'll net me in. But I might enjoy a cup and a squeeze.
Kathy. Hilarious. Yes, perhaps you're right.
Shell, there's a good batch of nuts here.
"Lou, this looks like it's gonna be a loooong case. We better settle in."
