You're Invited

Save the date! It's the San Gabriel Valley Blogger's potluck picnic, coming up on March 28th (that's March! I'm giving you lots of notice) from 12-4PM at Farnsworth Park in Altadena. Everyone's invited and that means you! You don't have to be a blogger to come. Fans, friends, commenters and lurkers are welcome. Bring a dish to share. See you there!

That's not the only invitation today. You'll remember our friend Dianne Emley and the recent contest here at Pasadena Daily Photo to win her book Cut to the Quick. Dianne will discuss and sign The Deepest Cut, the third book in her Nan Vining thrillogy, this Wednesday at Vroman's at 7PM. I'll be there and I hope you will, too. Be sure and say hello!

Speaking of friends, I'd like to say a word to blog followers, official and un: thank you! (okay, two words.) Your visits, comments and emails are much appreciated.

What a stunning sky! & such a nice invite - should be plenty of time for everyone to save the date.
I'm out of town on Wed - well, I'm always out of Pasadena town - but I'm ready to start the next book.

Wow, I think this is the first time I've been the first to comment on one of your posts.

I'll be at the picnic!

No one tells me anything!

But, P, I'll come as one of your groupies.

The sky is glorious, and the colours compliment one another. Isn't nature great?!

It's noon to 4, not 1-4! Hate for anybody to miss out on the fun!

Thanks, Tim! I updated the post.

Pascal Jim, just so you don't mistake me, that's March 28th, not February. I've updated the post to emphasize that as well.

PIO, I guess Tash beat you to it. On another blog I frequent (Paris Daily Photo) there's a daily contest to be first, with an imaginary crown for the winner.

Hello, Kate. Thanks for your visit. We're fortunate to have access to nature as well as what the city offers.

Was this shot taken from north of the Colorado Bridge? Lovely sky.

Beautiful sky, but it depresses me. I worked in Pasadena for almost 10 years, right off Lake above Colorado. What a cool place to work, and I recall staying late at work and seeing this sky many times from our building. But it brings back great memories!

I hope your sky is still beautiful like this; I returned from Montana to serious rain in NoCal. Not sure if I can make the picnic; do you think they'll have installed cheap fast rail by then? If you can believe it, I found a cool vintage postcard from the Huntington in MT! I'll post it soon.

What a beautiful sky! And what a very fun picnic that will be--have a great time!

North, yes, my hiker friend. It was taken from just north of the Devil's Gate Dam. I don't know what the roadway is called. There's an exit off the 210 freeway there, but it's not marked on my Thomas guide.

Hello, Skrip! I'm sorry it depresses you. I guess you miss it. I would, too.

Katie, I love that you found that postcard! I'll eagerly await its posting.

Kris, and the same goes for Christie - I wish you could come to the picnic. Too far away, the both of you. Of course, that's up to you.

Glorious sky! Perfect for Sunday. And thank you for the invitation. I won't be able to make it.
But I'll continue to enjoy your blog. Thank you for all you put into it. :>)

I wish you could come, Ms. M. You too, Bettina! I don't know about the PDP picnic. I wrote it on my calendar, but I seriously doubt I'll make it. I will dream about it, though.
