I had fun taking pictures during our storm a few days ago. We had gorgeous skies and some crazy light.
On Wednesday, USElaine of Willits Daily Photo tagged me to reveal 5 things about myself. I wouldn't do this for just anybody, but hey - it's Elaine. So here goes:
1. I was once what you'd call a Led Zeppelin freak.
2. My mother told me I'm descended from the pirate, Henry Morgan, and I like to believe her.
3. I've been lifting weights.
4. I can't bear the smell of perfume.
5. I can burp on cue. And it ain't no pansy belch.
I like color, it suits me. But this time I like the B&W too.

Hah1 Great revelations, Petrea! A strong, Zepp-tripping, boom-belching pirate that smells like a human being! A match for Johnny Depp any day of the week, and I'll bet he falls short by wearing cologne. You rock, blogsister. 6^)
What a shot. I like both but I LOVE the colour version.
Aren't stormy skies great for photography?! This is great in BW, but like Jilly, I think I like the color a little bit more.
Great shot and I like both versions too!
Wow! The color beats the mono, hands down.
Elaine: what's Hah2? Are you starting a series?
USElaine: I like Johnny Depp! Since it's unlikely I'll be meeting him soon, it's okay if he wears cologne. But I'd prefer not.
Thanks all. Glad you like it. Yeah, we had some wild skies and we get them so rarely. They made the light so golden.
Bernie, like you've never had a typo.
This is one of my faves. I especially like the b&w.
PS I saw your new widget for Eateries and how you and Ben will be featured in Spring issue. Congratulations!
How weird. I sent a comment and it didn't go through. I think it went something like this: I especially like the palm trees, they look like an audience, or a chorus. I vote color.
(Someone left the gate open and Bernie got out. Quick, catch 'im.)
Susan, I think John is going to have a piece in there too, but now I can't find him on the website. They made some changes. We're going to find out more this week so I'll let you know. Should be fun!
Chorus! Karin, I like the way your mind works. Except I'm not going to catch Bernie, I'm going to let him fly. He seems to do well that way.
1-5. My kinda gal! ^_^
Two great photos. In the first one the yellow wall looks like desert sand with palm trees on the horizon!
Stunning photo. Always good to take advantage of beautiful sky and wild light, since we don't often get dramatic skies in CA. Like Marley I thought this was a desert photo, but that was early this morning when I was looking at your blog on my iPod.
I recently saw Robert Plant with Alison Krauss, and the man still has the moves. You should look for a video of them singing together.
But mostly I'm just impressed that you can burp on cue.
I like them both.
One of my great-great aunts was running a brothel.
The contrast in color on the first pic is powerful, though I see why some would like the black and white. Very nice.
I love this image. Especially the startling color of the first one.
Love the revelations, P. (Former Zep-head here, too. I still rock out to Ramble On when I hear it on the radio.)
Once a Led Zeppelin Freak, always a LZ Freak.
My mother was appalled when she heard the Lemon Song lyrics.
I thought it looked like the desert, too. I almost like the thumbnail size best.
Katie, I'll look for Robert and Alison. I think I'll like it. Though he doesn't have the vocal power he used to he's still got the soul.
Wow, Vanda! I wonder if she knew Henry.
I never played the Lemon Song for my mother, but she liked Ramble On once I told her what the lyrics were about.
I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite, but probably the ones they never play on the radio: Ten Years Gone. The Rain Song. The Ocean. Etc.
I like the color photo best.
I'm with you on the perfume, Petrea. Actually, I don't mind the vanilla one and the one called Angel, but most others freak me out, especially if too strong. I think it gets worse with age. The smell of strong perfume can ruin my meal at a restaurant.
I was never into LZ. I was a first-waver. You know, Beatles, Stones, Spoonful, all the 60s bands before LZ and Santana. Never saw LZ, never wanted to.

Stairway to Heaven by an Australian Beatles band as the 1964Beatles might have done it.
Hah2 I like the color rendition best.
Gesundheit. Kleenex?
Both photos are excellent -- I really like the drama of the one in color. Your revelations are fun. I was a great LZ fan, too. I think my mom tuned out the music. But what freaked her out was the album cover for "Who's Next" (the Who).
Earl, that's nice of you, but it sounds kind of eeuw. Spoonful was great (I knew the words to all their songs.) I loved both the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. I love a good cover, but am not much interested in an imitator.
Ms. M, I went to Amazon.com to refresh my memory on that album cover. Ah, it takes me back!
I SO promise myself to visit you more often, but just can't be everywhere. But every time I stop by I am ashamed of myself and all that I've missed. This is the perfect example of why I should be a more dedicated fan. Fantastic!
But P, it's not really an imitator. It's fun. Honest.
My word: "rewoo"
Michael, I'd love you to visit every day but I know how it is. I can't be everywhere, either. Stop by when you can, you're most welcome!
Okay Mr. Earl, I looked. It's well done, but it's so spot-on it's sterile. I think that's because they're so careful to imitate that there's no originality. You say it's not an imitation, I say it's nothing but. Which is fine! Some people love that. It's just not to my taste.
Oh, so funny, Petrea! I can't believe the belching part though! Hilarious!
