Merry Christmas, 2008

If you're in town, you can view Pasadena's Christmas tree in person (or in tree, as the case may be). It stands in the entryway to City Hall. I recommend you visit after dark when the lights are most spectacular.

I don't think the city of Pasadena would mind if I wish you a merry Christmas on its behalf.

Merry Christmas! And thanks for visiting, virtually or otherwise. May your days be merry and bright.

Great Photo, again, P. For your greatest hits album.
(I wish someone would get me a tripod 4 Christmas!)

Peace on earth amongst men & women, & Happy Christmass 2 you & the 2 men in your life, B & J!

We always have an old-fashioned Christmas tree at City Hall instead of the overdecorated department store style. Nice photo, Petrea.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Petrea, Merry Christmas to you. A lovely shot of this tree. I don't usually care for bluish trees, but this one is truly beautiful.

awesome shot Petrea. Merry Christmas!

Now that's quite an image. I like the blue lights and how the arched stone work (looks like stone anyway) frames the tree.

Great shot.

What a great photo. Thank you. Hey, I read that in 1909 Pasadena had one of the nation's first community Christmas trees lit by electric lights.

Gorgeous tree! And the ceiling looks a little like Union Station in Washington DC. Have a delightful rest of your Christmas!

Merry Christmas,Petrea! Your photo is magnificent. You must have gotten down on your belly to get that shot! Best wishes to you and your family on this magical day.

By the way, the enormous flowers on the barrel-vaulted ceiling in the grand entrance were made of cast stone by master craftsmen who were brought over from Europe in the 1920s to create all of the wonderful architectural elements that grace the building's exterior.

Tell the truth, Petrea: it's really no taller than a Munchkin and you took the photo from less that a foot away. ;)

Seriously (i.e. in non-Scroogey mode) - quite spectacular!

Love and best wishes to you and your loved ones.

Thank you all for stopping by on your busy Christmas day! Mine was quiet, calm, rainy and sweet. I hope yours was wonderful.

Michael Coppess: cool information! Thanks.

PIO: You're right. Whatever it takes, as long as it's legal. Hey, and that's my favorite page on the city's website. At least, so far, of the ones I've found. (I also like the walking art tour maps.)

I can't thank you all enough.

What a stunner - both the ceiling and the tree. Apologies, I'm a day late but hope you and yours (including that gorgeous canine) had a wonderful Christmas, Petrea.
