Theme Day: Lines

The first of each month is theme day for the City Daily Photo blogs community. Today's theme is "lines." Hey, any opportunity to plug my show!

I've just begun rehearsals for "The Mystery Plays," an evening of two interrelated one-act dramas at the Still Speaking Theatre in San Marino, which borders Pasadena on the south.

Here Chad C. Wood, Justin Dew and Dariean Henderson learn blocking and LINES while Donald B. Shenk directs during our first "on-our-feet" rehearsal. The show runs November 1st through the 23rd. I'll be posting more about it.

In the meantime, there are lots of City Daily Photo blogs showing off their lines today.

Hey, that's a good start, but now we just want to know more and more about your show. Wish I could jump over to CA and hear your lines.

I'm so glad you chose this kind of LINES. You are the perfect one to do that. Can't wait to learn more about your play. Wish i could actually see it in person.

Ahhh....like minds! I wondered who else would use lines in this way. I love it.

Petrea, this is great - they're standing in a line learning their lines. Looking forward to more info.

First of all, Break a Leg. Wish I could come and see you in the play.

you've many lines in this photograph. The ones to be learned, the background and also the three actors standing in a line. Love it all.

Hope you all can remember your "lines" well today and through the rest of the run! Break a leg!

The director appears to be a fellow EMU alum! What a small world! I found that out by just poking around the website, we've never met before. More reason to see your play!

I wondered if you might post a photo of this sort...rehearsing the lines is a perfect choice for you! Good luck with the play!

Also, thanks for the comments on my blog!

Don't worry, Dina and Knoxville Girl, I'll tell it as we go along. I'm happy to publicize.

Thanks, Virginia. Sharon did so too in Phoenix. A great pic.

It would be nice if you could come, Jilly, but I'd rather tour the show to Menton!

Thanks, Christie.

Ben, that amazing connection brings to mind the invisible lines connecting us all.

a great choice for the theme

I thought I would stop by and drop you a line...
I read in one of the blogs today - sorry, my memory is very bad - the dictionary lists 52 (or was it 53?) definition for lines...
I guess you have a few in your picture/blog/comments :)

AH Petrea, of course you should post this interpretation! Wonderful post for theme day. (I can't wait to see your show!)

I'm looking forward to seeing your play. The last theater production I saw was a play put on by Furious Theater. When they first started in Pasadena (at the defunct Armory West) we would lend them our tools and they would invite us to watch them perform. Need any tools? yes or no I'll be there.

A great personal take on the theme! Sounds like your commenters will be lining up to see your show.

Break a leg, Petrea :)

Oh, oh, oh! Tour it up this way too!

This really is stylish photography, and I love the director moving into the frame, but not too far. You hit the right moment.

What a wonderful interpretation of the "lines" theme! Break a leg with your play. I'm going to a play in two weeks. Hope my French is improved enough by then to understand. At least there's always good enunciation at a play, as you well know.

Very nice lines.

Thanks for stopping by, everyone. PA, I'll have to check about the tools.

This is an image with many lines on different levels. The actors, the written lines, the ceiling lines. Lateral, literal and abstract. Marvellous interpretation. I'm all for a little self promotion. If it's still the done thing to say break a leg. A curious saying that has always intrigued me. Now I must find out the hsitory behind it.

Petrea, this is a wonderful theme day photo - love the action of the moving figure. I will definitely be up there to see you perform. I'll keep checking if there will be a local blogger nite to come see the play.
