Colorado Street Bridge At Night

Maybe not my definitive shot, but I do like this one. Taken at the east end of the bridge, July 19th 2008.

Very nice! I really like the way it wraps around just asking to be photographed.

Hi everyone, we just got back. We were delayed by the Midwest storms (Kelly, you know). I'll have a chance to look at comments and say hello after I eat something. It's been a long trip. Mostly good.

Kelly, many of my high school friends ended up in Geneva and I gave them all your url!

hmmm, looks not so much like a bridge, but a shoreline. Half Moon Bay at night. Twinkling crescent of lights.
Welcome back.

Reminds me of the last scene in "Field of Dreams" as in "If you build it they will come." Glad you had a nice trip. Welcome back!

Thanks, Petrea!

I am glad you had a terrific trip! I hope next time you are out this way, we can meet at the Little Traveler for lunch!

Oh Petrea, these are the kinds of night photos I just love. Very Brassai-esque and gorgeous with those streetlamps.

Welcome home! I hope the reunion was fun.

Oh, I'm so glad to be back! I finally had a decent meal today. I'm not good with road food.

Kelly, next time we'll do it. I won't take such a short trip to Illinois again. I shortchanged myself in doing so. (Speaking of shortchanging myself: I don't think I'll fly again, either.)

Thank you all for keeping the blog going while I was gone. I'm very glad to be back.

I'm with Virginia -- this could definitely be Paris! Really pretty photo. Sounds like you had a fun trip (storms aside); hope we get to hear more about it!

Glad you are back safely, & I know what you mean about road food!

Beautiful night shot petrea. I have yet to attempt any other than shooting the moon. Welcome home.

P, welcome bak. So, now u won't fly plus you won't buy another gas powered vehicle, equals...?

A great pic. (I know I've said it b4) This is a scene you can really do a lot with. I would go out another night & see what others shots you can get with the color bridge @ nite.

Ooh ... The lamp fixtures remind me of Pont Alexandre III, my favorite bridge in Paris!

I think it looks like a string of diamonds! A jewel of a shot.

Katie, I wish I could find our Mayor's quote. He called Pasadena "the Paris of the west coast," or something like that.

Thanks, Lily. My stomach still hasn't recovered...

Jill, thank you. Laurie recommended a lightweight tripod and I'm going to try that.

I'm walkin', L.O. Or maybe I'll fly, but only non-stop and only first class. It's demeaning the way they treat you for the thousand bucks we paid. Unbelievable.

High praise, Parisian Heart, thank you!

Bibi, thanks.

I believe the Bogaard quote was, "The Paris of the Pacific".
You're improved quote with the "west coast" makes more sense since Pasadena is on land, not water

Petrea Burchard said...

Ah, but "Paris of the Pacific" is more alliterative. It trips off the tongue so well.
