Window

A shop window on Fair Oaks in South Pasadena. When I took the photo it looked like no one had been inside for a long time. It's next to the Rialto Theatre. I imagine when the Rialto gets revived, this shop will wake up, too.

All old buildings sleep in black & white. Antique cars burble past on dreamy boulevards. But the sun comes up and warms their facades with gold; the modern age resumes. If you'd taken this picture an hour later, it would've been in color …

Wow! first, cool picture-second, Bernie that was beautifully written!
I'm glad I stopped by.
;)
I just saw your last photo too Petrea, another beauty.Especially the shadows of the figures, I love that and the colors too. I am tad bit biased though, I'm partial to most anything green.
Thank you for the treat.

Petrea, a visual treat, Bernie, a visual-auditory one!! (it does sound better when you read it aloud!)

Thanks you!!

And such a sad thing, I hate empty storefronts. I know we have plenty of them here sometimes. But thankfully things are getting spruced up and changed and the empty ones are filling up again.

This photo has so much going on - reflections within reflections. I like that you chose black & white, because it brings out the complexities of all those reflected images.
Bernie, you are a good writer - I never thought of cars as burbling, but somehow it fits the scene.

Cityscapes seen out of scene on a screen.

I don't know why I did that.

I think I'll just call you Ms. Friedlander, if I may. AWESOME photo!!! Love the curtain detail especially!

Sweet, bernie k. The others are correct, your writing is beautiful.

Lily Hy, Christie, Knoxville Girl, thanks for the compliments. I'm glad folks like the photo. And though it looked a bit sad, I have hopes it will be revived, as will the theatre.

Let your mind flow, uselaine. This is the place for it.

Katie, you know what was on my mind when I took the shot! I've got more learning to do before I can claim the title, but I'm working on it!

Nostalgia for me; a window "reflecting" times past.
