Page 94 Girl

This man is reading a magazine. Pasadena Magazine, to be specific.

A magazine is like a blog, except it's not backlit. That's why this man is sitting in the sun. (Actually, it's more like a whole website, except you can read it in a coffee shop even if you don't have a laptop and they don't have wifi.)

What is he reading about? Why, Pasadena Daily Photo, of course. He's riveted on Page 94 where there's a teeny weeny blurb about this here blog that even includes one of my photos.

Oh no, I'm not bursting with pride or anything.

The May issue of Pasadena Magazine is on the stands. It's absolutely gorgeous. I left a few copies out there for you, but you'd better hurry up because I'll be out today buying more. (Tip: the newsstand price is steep but the subscription price is very reasonable, so since every single issue is fabulous, go ahead and subscribe!)

so cool. Not sure we can get Pasadena Magazine in Dallas, but maybe our friendly librarian can score a copy.

Reading Pasadena, thinking Chicago? I'm guessing this is your own fellow here.... Dennis Hopper would turn it backwards.

Congrats on the great notice!

Wow, that is so cool! Congrats! I like the picture you took and the cover of the magazine is so retro!

Congratulations, Petrea! That is quite an accomplishment - watch out - now your blog will be flooded with comments!

You are hot! How cool to see your own work in a magazine, and we do this for fun which makes it even neater. You already have a high bar, but now its higher.

Cubs still suck.

Thank you, all.

Ginab: I don't know if you can get it in Dallas, but I wouldn't be surprised. You also have a really good daily photo blog (which we can get anywhere!) at http://dallasdailyphoto.blogspot.com/.

Eau, Bernie, yew rawk.

Yeah, Elaine, it's tough to get Dennis Hopper to a photo shoot first thing in the morning. We grabbed the nearest hat. A shout-out to our Midwestern root, perhaps.

Tanya, I guess that "retro" feel comes from the lettering. Pasadena is big on restoration, and we have a lot of beautiful early 20th-century architecture.

Thanks, Marley!

Pont Girl, I hope so. Thanks.

Ha, Jim! They've got a new field to play on, Wrigley's all perfect now. Watch out!

Awesome that you're featured in Pasadena Magazine! And I really like the photo they chose. This photo is great too; the bright colors, the flowers in the background. That Cubs cap doesn't scream Pasadena, but the colors sure work! There's a great magazine shop in SF, so I'll see if they carry it so I can take a look at one of those back-lit blog-like things.

congratulations!

Thank you, Katie. I hope your shop carries it. Some big-city magazine shops have other big-city magazines, don't they? (Nudge and wink to GinaB...)

Thanks, Palm!

Well done Petrea. Brim with pride - why not! You always post such interesting things so I'm not surprised it's been picked up by this magazine.

I looked at the Dallas blog. It’s ok, but doesn’t have the character of yours. Your commentary is a huge contribution. Your research into the history and background of the photos makes the photos even better, and the tone of your blog is much more personal and thoughtful. I think that’s a part of the appeal. Also, your photos, as you know, are evocative, not blatant. Not just landmarks, but insights into living in Pasadena.

so proud.

Hey! So I'm the girl from the pic. :D
Remember me? Emily?
I've been looking for the photos from that shoot for my myspace, lol. :P
Hope life is going amazingly for you! :D

Hi Emily, are you the model on the cover? That's so fun! Did you try contacting the photographer from the shoot? Or contact the magazine editors, they might be able to hook you up with the photographer so you could get the pics. Good luck!
