I was going for a picture of steam. I like the bonuses I got: bokeh leaves outside the window, streams and spangles of light inside, and a post-breakfast pooch all curly-uppy on his bed in anticipation of the arrival of the sun, which is
his, to heat his tummy.
Van Gogh's Starry Night, anyone?
ReplyDeleteVery lovely.
What a fabulous photograph, Petrea. The perfect, glorious Sunday morning.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is a masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteI feel like curling up with Boz ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat photograph!
ENJOY IT!:)
ReplyDeleteI love the steam coming from that perfect green cup.
ReplyDeleteThat sun is gorgeous!! We're suppose to get to the 80's this week!! Us crabs ( Cancer folk) love the sun... Can't wait for that heat. I could feel the warmth from your photo..:-)
ReplyDeleteCatching the steam takes a lot of talent! I love this shot. Feels warm and cozy. Makes you want to be there :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing picture. The steam from the cup is perfect, but the rest, oh my. The sun rays, Boz, those circular prisms of light are just WoW. Sometimes its the unplanned that takes our breath away.
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful, Petrea.
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for making my morning, friends. Sometimes I love a picture just because I love it, but that doesn't mean you love it. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe tendrils of steam coming out of the cup are amazing. Is Boz resting after taking part in the Wild Hunt during the night?
ReplyDeleteGreat photo full of perfect little details. Plus a happy Boz. And I love how one of the bits of steam looks almost solid, like the curled top on a soft-serve ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that's it, Bellis. He's so tame during the day his dreams must be absolutely feral.
ReplyDeleteIt must be the back-lighting, Katie. I'm very happy with my steam.
Is it my imagination or can I also see your reflection in the cup?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. But that might be my off-white turtleneck on the lower left. Not sure that's a bonus, I really should have worn something else.
ReplyDeleteI'm with everybody else this morning - well, afternoon for me. Love this photo! It'd make a great book cover.
ReplyDeleteClassy picture. I suddenly need to make a nice hot cup of tea this minute.
ReplyDeleteI can feel the morning warmth and would love to join you all for that cup of tea in the morning...
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS shot Petrea!!! One of your very best!!!
Just how in the hell did you do that? I"m blown away. And I love my poochie woochie in the background.

Love your photo! The sunrays, the circles of light, the steam, and Boz. Marvelous!
ReplyDeleteI like this subject matter so much even I have a few shots similar to this.
ReplyDeleteBtw, is this your old, beginner camera PDP? It looks like your lens, as with mine, may need to be cleaned.
I'm charmed and warmed.
ReplyDeleteHi Petrea, I love this photo (and not only because I have this very same cup!). One of my favorite photos is of my cat, peering from behind a coffee cup one morning. I recently started a CDP blog in your neighbor-city, Sierra Madre. Please check it out if you have a moment. Not much there yet, but it's a start. (www.seeingsierramadre.com) So much fun to have a real reason to take all the photos I take when I'm out walking. This whole thing is fairly addicting! Thanks for your wonderful blog - I look forward to it daily!
ReplyDeleteYou all have charmed and warmed my day. Thanks for the good words. Maybe I'll nominate this one for photo of the year. (It's early to think about it, but the contenders are all having their teeth whitened and getting their eyebrows waxed in anticipation.)
ReplyDeleteWow. That's a classic.
ReplyDeleteOh, this really is wonderful, Petrea! Aside from the cup in one of my favourite colours, and the contented sight of one of my favourite pooches, the light and effects are remarkable. I love it.
ReplyDeleteA sweet bit of genius.
ReplyDeleteThank you, merci, gracias, danke, and I don't think I know how to spell any others. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove the spangles of light. Fabulous!
