Incogneato
We're looking north on Raymond Avenue outside Castle Green. Somebody's missing a license plate, though I guess he'll be easy to spot if he needs catching.
I've been inside the main building several times but not the part you see here. Once a resort hotel, the building is now apartments, and the main floor is used for fancy parties. This part is currently (or was until recently) an apartment. It was once part of a bridge that crossed the street to a companion hotel that no longer exists. More here http://www.castlegreen.com/
I never knew the tower was an apartment!!! We went to the Castle Green when looking for a venue for my step-daughter's first wedding...it got vetoed (by the other side of the family) because it was old...I was in heaven touring it and thinking of the beautiful wedding she would have...ah well...that's family!!!
What a gorgeous car! Love the two-tone classy green. What fun it would be to take a spin in this beauty. I was talking to someone who works in our LA office recently and he said he lives in Castle Green and that next time I'm in town I should crash at his place. I said he better not be joking because I am SO going to take him up on that!
Boy, is that meter expired—!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to throw in a couple of quarters for the guy, he makes the place look classy.
DeleteWOW. This should be MY car! Great.
ReplyDeleteYou'd look fine behind that wheel!
DeleteWhat a wonderful building. I'd love to be inside that tower space. Wonder if the car could get up to "getaway" speed? :)

I think I saw that car in The Big Sleep.
ReplyDeleteBet you did. I wonder if it remembers.
DeleteMust belong to the mayor
ReplyDeleteHe's known for being flashy.
DeleteNot one but two colors of green that have disppeared from the automotive world.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, isn't it? Elegant colors.

ReplyDeleteLove the car...
Because it's old! Yes! Old and faded like Miss Havisham in her gown. I love it.
DeleteA back to the future moment, indeed. Now if only the bridge went all the way across the street, like it used to.
ReplyDeleteA clerk at Stats told me there's a tunnel. It's been closed for some time, I guess, but it's still there. So they say.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, and I hope hope hope he will invite me to stop by for drinks while you're here.
DeleteGreat combination of the vintage car and the vintage tower! You stop, just for a moment, and wonder what era we're in.
