Not the Moon

You could bray at it, but you'd be barking up the wrong Christmas tree.

Three guesses.

Never mind. You can have all the guesses you want. You'll probably get it on the first try anyway.

  1. I have one of those!!!. Costco had those nightlights are like light blue discs that come on when it gets dark... Petrea, your imagination is way out there!. Love it.

  2. Oh, Kalei, it's not a night light. However, you've tempted me to go to Costco and get one.

  3. It sure has the same shape and color as mine...lol
btw, its one night light I have had for a zillion years... its flush to the wall.. I don't think costco has it any more :-(

  8. Do they still have the laser show, Alex?

That's cute, Kalei. I like the round light.

  9. This is supposed to be easy? Looks like the moon to me.

  10. The green on a traffic signal light at night? (with dark background photographed to look pitch black)

  11. Oh jeez, I thought this would be easy.

  12. Or maybe it's an extreme close-up of an isolated globe Christmas tree light?

  13. heck, I THOUGHT it was easy.. Sure my answer isn't right??? LOL

  14. You've stumped me on this one Petrea!!!

  15. once in a blue moon - wasn't it predicted to be orange?

  16. Something round and glowy … Is it some kind of Christmas tree decoration, Petrea? I honestly have no idea, but it is strangely attractive. I wonder if I'll still want one when you tell us what it is.

  17. Is this Zen Thursday? I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this isn't easy. Perhaps a Pasadena street light?

  18. Looks like Boz took a bite out of a Christmas tree ornament. The photo does have a nice Zen look to it.

  19. Please tell me it's not gallstone.

WV: Pitions, as in pition those of use who have no idea what it is.

  20. Okay, Margaret, it's not a gallstone.

Susan (the first Susan here) got it and Dive got it, too--it's a Christmas tree light, part of string of outdoor lights like any others, except they're round. I took a few close-ups and was surprised how much this one looked like the moon. The black behind it is the bush it's hanging on, the black brushes in front are evergreen branches.

  21. And to the person who deleted her comment: I thought it was funny!

  22. do u have one of those round windows?? and if so, is that the blue sky coming thru it??? this is my second guess!.

  23. Fooled me, I believed it was the moon. Good one!

  24. BTW, I looked it up in the Blue-Haired Encyclopædia … a pition is the fundamental atomic unit of liberal guilt.

wv: unfumme: what a liberal (like me) would find this, during dinner.

  25. This looks like a blue moon with the profile of a pointy-nosed face on the edge of it. Could be a book cover for a Halloween story.

Or it could be a big blue button on the side of a very dark building. I wonder who or what comes out if you push the button??

  26. Maybe it's the counterpart to this week's Zen Monday, Ms. M. If we push it, someone scary will "buzz us in."

  27. dayum, *I* knew what it was...wth people?!?!

other than THE Parade, it's one of the icons of Pasadena.

    sheesh!

I'd have rung in sooner, but been taking care of an ill friend and online time has been scare...if I'd only have known you all needed help!

    wv: unold...no, really, like, young?

  28. I didn't know what it was, but somehow it reminded me of this. Which seems appropriate for the Winter Solstice somehow.

  29. my lack of sleep showed---lost a "c" in translation...sigh.

I think I'm going to bed now!

wv: rhing...if I hear another discriminatory Salvation Army bell rhing at me I'm going to find a new place for their bell
