Entropy, 1

Whenever we have a free day, John and I like to explore. You start out with a vague plan and it always, always changes. That's the beauty of it.

On Thanksgiving day we discovered a place I had never noticed before. You may have seen it, but in my six years in Pasadena I had probably driven by it a thousand times without knowing it was there.

A bit of a mystery for today. More to come.

  1. Oh, wow! Looks like a starry sky and the Milky Way down there in the puddle. Great reflections, Petrea. I can't wait for the mystery to be revealed.

  2. I don't care if my plan changes, as long as it includes you.

  5. Not sure what that is, but it looks like a perch several hundred feet above a forest.

  6. I've got a guess, but I won't spoil the fun.

    And John...awwww! sweet!

Glad you two enjoy your adventures, even more glad you share them with us!

  7. Before I met John I used to take adventures on my own. I'd find a spot on the map and target it, then head in that direction. Most of the time I wouldn't get there because I'd spot an interesting detour, or I'd get there and the target spot wasn't interesting but I'd keep going and find something that was. I spent a lot of weekends doing this.

Imagine my joy at finding a partner who likes to do this with me! JS, I feel the same.

We did this one right in town. Targeted a spot, headed there and even got there, then found something we didn't expect.

Don't worry, PA, I never would have known either.

We shall see, Chieftess. I'm sure many of you know this, but I had no idea.

  16. I'm in with a "blurp"!

A few years ago, we had some business to conduct about 30 miles away. Rather than take the freeways home, I cranked the GPS up and just took a road, when it stopped, we made a turn, then another, then another. All amongst farm country, which isn't hard, since we have a farm less than 5 minutes away. While it took us a few hours to get home, we had a lovely afternoon looking at farm houses and animals and relaxing.

wv: crump...oh, not touching that one!

  17. That's the way to do it, Trish. If you've got the time, let yourself get just a little lost.
