True Luv, Written in Cement

We've begun a pedestrian theme this week, of shoes and feet. I didn't know if it would continue or not, but I happened to have this sidewalk shot in my files. I say it counts because sidewalks are for walking.

And for lovers, apparently.

Do you suppose Chris and Patty are still in true luv, 4 ever?

  1. Yes, sidewalks are for walking - hence the name. But now lots of people think that asphalt is for walking, talking, biking, and gawking.

    Interesting composition, Pedrea!

  2. Alas, it did not work out. Chris moved to New York. Patty had five children. They both became alcoholics but went through AA--each without the other knowing. They've both been sober over 20 years now. Chris think about Patty from time to time. Patty doesn't even remember Chris.

  3. Margaret's wrong. They're still together; it's written in stone.

  4. LOL!!!

I've sort of forgotten what sidewalks look like Petrea!!! Thanks for the reminder!!!

Main street, or Hwy 203 is sadly lacking any place for pedestrians to walk safely...consequently, as you drive up toward Minaret Rd you have to watch for pedestrians walking from the village to their condo/hotel/motel! Apparently it's part of the vision for the town, but the economy (and a really big lost lawsuit) have put a damper on the town's plans...

  5. From Ptrea to Pedrea. I'm liking it, Earl. That, plus your description of what sounds like the beginnings of auto pinball.

Margaret the pragmatic, Hiker the romantic.

I read about the lawsuit, Chieftess. I hope it hasn't put a damper on your plans, too.

  7. One day archaeologists will puzzle over these inscriptions and keep them in museums.

  8. I like them both, Chieftess.

I wonder, Bellis. If only they were less common.

  9. Shouldn't it say true luv 4 eva? Or is that just the Long Island version?

  10. I doubt they are still together, but I can imagine them during the process of sidewalk writing. Absorbed, believing and young.

  12. "Absorbed, believing and young" would make me want to go to your blog, Irina, if I hadn't already been there.

  13. Chris and Patty were walking on the street right before their 30th anniversary. They looked at the wet cement and then smiled at each other. The rest is history.

  14. Oh dear! I hope Chris and Patty didn't put their proclamation of love to close to the drain cover - wouldn't want it going down there ;)

  16. Well, perhaps they could have chosen a better location but I think they meant every word.
