Kemo Sabe...what say you about "stone-faced" brother on top of roof with pecking birds? You once tell me old brothers go to glue-factory...is this the first stop at factory---frozen statue, THEN glue making?
of course, after looking at it a little longer...considering how nervous some horses are about jumping---
running thru its head---uhm,maybe if I just stay realllllly still, someone will come help me because...my choices are---jump on the chicken coop, jump all the way to then ground or jump on the dumpster... noooo, noooo, nooo, I'll just stay RIIIGHT here and let the birds peck at me, laaa, laaaa, laaaa, laaa, hey wait, do horses sing? I dunno, but I'm going to pretend to until someone gets me DOOOOOOOOOOWN!
After an interminable cattle call, one half of the guest cast has been found for the "Musicians of Bremen" segment of "Glee." They're fighting like cats and dogs over the remaining roles.
"Rise up this mornin', Smiled with the risin' sun, Three little birds Pitch by my doorstep Singin' sweet songs Of melodies pure and true, Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh! Every little thing gonna be all right. Don't worry!" Singin': "Don't worry about a thing" - I won't worry! "'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."

if you drive through East LA (esp Boyle Heights), you can see several gigantic plastic chickens atop the carnicerias in that 'hood. i guess in the Dena, cows reign supreme.
Great Zen Monday. I love the subtle references to great theater and horses of a different color.
Welcome to the new commenters! Thank you for joining in.
And a big welcome to the city kids who don't know the difference between horses and cows. Though to be honest, I think technically I took this photo inside the LA city limits.
Kemo Sabe, say what horse doing on top of barn? Lone Ranger hit bottle of firewater?
ReplyDeleteHorse prepares for his first dumpster dive.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds of that line from the movie, "O Brother Where Art Thou".."You will see a cow on a cotton house".
ReplyDeleteThose birdies are singing "We've been through the dumpster on a horse with no mane".
ReplyDeleteAnd eveyone thought Santa used reindeer.
ReplyDeleteMr. Ed, the talking horse says to his pals Heckel and Jeckel, "Boys let's head to the bar for a drink. The highballs are on me."

"I want to go home to Montana," said Brown Beauty.
ReplyDelete"We'll show you the way," said the three birds. "It's not far if you fly. First you have to climb up somewhere high."
"OK," Beauty said, "I'm on the roof. What next?"
"Now just open your wings and launch yourself into the air. OPEN YOUR WINGS!! FLAP YOUR WINGS NOW!!!! WHERE ARE YOUR WINGS.......?"
To be continued...(and there's a happy ending.)
"A horse is a horse of course, of course..."
ReplyDeleteFor years, Harv had heard tales from old birds about the legendary chestnut tree. Sadly, the closest he could find was an old plastic sorrel.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to know what KB did with her horses after they did their time with her.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course... Until he becomes a bird.
ReplyDeleteChieftess got me started.
This is too Zen...
ReplyDeleteI don't get it...
Looks like a tin roof.
ReplyDeleteWe are reminded, cherished childhood possessions mirror life becoming feed for a rusted dumpster as change rolls into the next moment.
