Be You

When you're you, there's no competition.

Happy birthday to my wonderful father-in-law, Sandy.

And happy Fete Nationale to mes amies Francais.
(I apologize for Blogger's undiplomatic behavior. It refuses to allow me a circonflexe or a cedille.)

  2. Happy Birthday Sandy! Another fine photo. Could that sky be any bluer? Nice angle of the photo too. I like it.

  3. I was a Free To Be You and Me kid, so I learned early it was ok to be me. But thanks for the reminder! I like this photo; nice to see the beautiful street light hanging out with the pretty palms. Bon anniversaire Sandy!

  4. It's going to be a hot one! I've been complaining of the cold for weeks, but it got very warm yesterday and we're expecting 90's today.

Mark, I could make it bluer! But you never know how these shots are going to look on various screens. On my desktop it's super saturated and on my laptop it's washed out, so I opted for something in the middle.

  6. Merci Stéphane! I suppose if I had titled this post "Tu es," it wouldn't have made sense.

  7. Isn't tu es the abbreviation for Tuesday?

Kidding aside, I love the photo. We have so many of these historic street lamps in Pasadena. Sadly many of them were replaced in the 1970s with those ugly "cobra"-style street lamps.

  8. Yes, well, I hope we've learned our lesson. I've seen lots of the historical ones in town (and a few of their tops in antique shops).

  9. A blog friend, given to quotes, posted this last week: "Always remember that you’re unique. Just like everyone else."

She's one of my favorites. So are you.

  12. Oh go on, Hiker. Make my good day into a great one, why don't you?

How nice of you all. I think Sandy will be pleased. He's not a major web surfer, but he'll see your messages, I'm sure.

  13. Is that the tree, Greg, or are you making political comments?
