Zen Monday: #65


Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what the photo's about. I look for something worth thinking about or, failing that, at least something odd.

As I post each new Zen Monday photo, I'll add a label to last week's to identify it if necessary (if I know what it is).

    Worried that exploration of the solar system by JPL spacecraft would trigger attacks by aliens, NASA built a decoy JPL lab nearby, using yellow - a color extremely attractive to extraterrestrials - as a lure. Petrea, this is a top secret facility - how on earth did you get anywhere near it?

    Well, the writing on the pavement is a little tough to see, apparently. But that is sometimes the case with a Zen Monday shot. You have to look carefully to see what's Zen about it, meaning what does the photo teach? (As if there was actual erudition to be found here on a Monday.)

    I'm not sure what NASA has to do with this place, Katie. It's way across town from JPL and nowhere near Caltech. I'll find out and post the info in a few days. I remember the site has something to do with WWII and maybe torpedoes. ? Maybe Bellis is right and it's a decoy facility.

    By the way, NASA has several small satellite (no pun intended) facilities throughout Pasadena.
