Night in the city is often bright. Here's what night looks like when you look up from South Lake Avenue in Pasadena. The City Daily Photo family is now 1019 strong. I've met people in Iran, Brisbane, Paris, Rotterdam and now a new blog in Herat, Afghanistan. This remarkable community of communicators joins together on the first of every month to share a theme. This month's theme is "night."

How funny, and thought provoking! Is Pasadena another city that never sleeps?
ReplyDeleteYou've had some gorgeous lighting in your last few pics, Petrea - it's been a theme all in itself! And the sky behind looks pitch black. Beautiful!
ReplyDelete{And Yay, Brisbane!}
So beautiful, your tree! It looks like gold leaf.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Happy Theme Day!

Love the colour here, the tree showing up so beautifully against the dark night.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know we had a blogger from Afghanistan. How marvellous. I'm going over to look. Thankyou, Petrea.
I love this shot.

I wonder whwre all the >1000 posters are...they certainly don't post every day.
Thanks for your visits! We do sleep, Saretta. At least I do.
ReplyDeleteOhh that's very pretty Petrea. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over and spotting my celeb pics!
Sometimes I have nothing more creative to say than: Zoinks, that's a gorgeous photo Petrea. :D
ReplyDeleteIt looks other-worldly! Great night post :)
ReplyDeleteShell is right: that sky is so black it almost looks unreal.
ReplyDeleteSomething about the lighting reminds me of Christmas and I do like Christmas. Nice choice!
I like night photos a lot, and yours is excellent. Has a surreal quality to it.
ReplyDeleteThe tree looks almost otherworldly because of the glow. I like it!
ReplyDeletePetrea, this is your third beautiful, artistic photo in a row. You just keep getting better and better!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember pointing this out to you.
ReplyDeleteGee, thanks you guys. For the locals: stand in front of Cold Stone Creamery on South Lake on a clear night and look up. I think the tree was lit by a municipal light, not car lights.
ReplyDeleteKarin, I'm returning the favor.
I really like the texture in this one!
ReplyDeleteSplendid image! To me it's all about a warm summer night.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, Petrea! Love your choice, beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it, everyone.
