Zen Monday: #51

Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what the photo's about.

As I post each new Zen Monday photo, I'll add a label to last week's to identify it if necessary (and if I know what it is). Last week, you may recall, Zen Monday was on Tuesday.

Update: This week, it's only fair that I let you know tomorrow, so tune in.

  1. Is art imitating life or is life imitating art?

And if he offers you some nuts, smile and say, "No, thank you."

  2. And don't accept any mushrooms either!

  3. For those adepts willing to undergo the trial, the Old Gods of the prairie still wander the back trails … but in the age of the telegraph and the steam-powered jockstrap, their time has waned. Here, venerated Troglodytes (muse of the suburban garden) performs his lonely abominations, in footwear from Target.

  7. A lot of people thought Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a crackpot who believed in the make believe world, but now I'm sure its real. Petrea has cracked into that spectrum of reality that Sir Doyle spoke about....

He once said "We see objects within the limits which make up our colour spectrum, with infinite vibrations, unused by us, on either side of them. If we could conceive a race of beings which were made of matter which threw out shorter or longer vibrations, they would be invisible unless we could tune ourselves up, or tone them down." He went on to add.. "It is exactly that power of tuning up and adapting itself to other vibrations which constitutes a clairvoyant, and there is nothing scientifically impossible, so far as I can see, in some people seeing that which is invisible to others."

Ladies and Gentleman.... Petrea the Clairvoyant.

  13. I second (or third or fourth) the motion to hear what this is about...can't wait for the story, Petrea!

The closer you look, the weirder it gets. Maybe that's how life is: it's only when you zoom in close that the damage shows. Remember C3P0: "That's funny, the damage doesn't look as bad from out here."

  21. After the massacre at the picnic site, Michael Myers tied his soiled clothing and tools into a Halloween pumpkin-like bundle. On his way back, he couldn't resist rescuing a litter of orphaned baby opossums he found in the woods.

  26. Now that is bizarre -- much more so than the goldfish fountain I posted! It seems like this street performer needs to relocate to NYC to gain a larger audience. Although he might have some competition with the Naked Cowboy...

  29. I promise--I'll tell you the story tomorrow, or at least the beginning of it. You all had me laughing so hard today!

This is my first all-Mac post, and today I've spent trying to figure out iPhoto. I had some help from Ibarionex Perello today. He came by to take my picture. (Yeah! Look what he does with a flower! I'm gonna look like a goddess!) But if my pictures look weird, I'm afraid we're going to have to blame it on me until I get this stuff figured out.

    One day at a time.
