She sent used books for Christmas--copies of all the books she'd read and loved that year. I'm still enjoying that gift. Seems like half my memories of youth were of hours spent in the stacks. I still remember crying when I was 6 because I realized I'd never, ever read all the books in the library even if I started then and tried my whole life.
