So many West Altadena kids go to Muir that it would benefit them to have a field there.

I just don't understand why the city and school district want folks to choose between two bad options.

Though, unfortunately, not surprising.Laura Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05948802112179073414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1067046564433930606.post-73687012084928485782013-04-03T09:16:23.947-07:002013-04-03T09:16:23.947-07:00The soccer field north of the football field was s...The soccer field north of the football field was still there last I looked. It was put where two ancient "temporary" buildings sat for 40 years.

Second, the field is in the middle of the main campus, and while last time I looked it had a backstop, it isn't really a baseball field. You can't play baseball where there are buildings so close. It was used as a practice field for sports and band before and after class hours.

Third, the Muir soccer field is/was to the north of the football field. If that field is still there, that's where a new soccer pitch should be put.

Fourth, they have had soccer games on the football field for years, and that can continue.

I know it's been 5 1/2 years since my last kid graduated from Muir, but I don't think things have changed that much. Certainly displacing a student project for something that someone outside the school wants hasn't.Laura Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05948802112179073414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1067046564433930606.post-13031836667217426212013-04-02T22:37:12.931-07:002013-04-02T22:37:12.931-07:00http://xkcd.com/37/

Must get mine done. It seems to be a win win situation. The new soccer field will replace an existing softball field at the school, there's plenty of parking nearby away from homes, and it's far more accessible for local kids than Hahamongna on the La Canada side ever was. Plus the new site will be suitable for evening play in the winter. In Hahamongna, there would have been no lighting, making it unsuitable for after school play.

Thee's no greenery out in England yet - I miss Hahamongna already.

Bellishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10168550139269893109noreply@blogger.com
