Enlarge this one if you need to. I'm hoping somebody has an explanation.

A dog with a chainsaw? That's scary.

John Sandel said...

Less than that, Dive—just a bad speller.

And in my Buddhist Thought for the Day e-mail I rec'd the following today:
"Cut down The forest of desire, Not the forest of trees. From the forest of desire Come danger & fear. Having cut down this forest & its underbrush, monks, be deforested."
- Dhammapada, 20,

Someone didn't get the message.

I have nothing clever but enjoyed the others. My thought was were they sick?

Y'all are worried about the tree stumps---I'm worried about a dog that can chew thru the steel posts or work an arc welder!

Feeling fine, Book Dragon. But thanks for asking.

These amputees need some artificial limbs.

Is there a black bird pretending to be a dog? I can see bird droppings on the sign, but the raven perching on top of the pole may be a figment of my imagination. Where did you find this weird scene?

Which doo should I be worried about? The "Scooby-doo"? The "Boop-poop-a-doo"? The "Yabba-dabba-doo"? The "Doobie-doobie-doo"? Or just plain doggie doo? "Why don't you do right, baby, like the other folks doo" and leave the trees alone?

P.S.. The stumps look awfully close together, but they could have cut every other not all. Maybe they were Sick?

It would be the bird doo, Speedway, if Bellis is correct. But I don't think there's a bird in this picture.

This is along the top of a wash high up in Altadena, Bellis, off of Loma Alta just west of Windfall Avenue. Folks who live in the neighborhood enter the Altadena Crest Trail from there, which is what we were doing.

I love all the explanations today, and one is as good as another. That sign is not in anyone's yard, it's just stuck out there by the tree stumps. I have no idea why.

Dina said...

Wait, doesn't that sign say to beware of the DOC ? Like, maybe a tree surgeon?

Petrea Burchard said...

Hahahaha! I think you've figured it out, Dina.
