Sunday, Sunday

When I worked at The Second City in Chicago, we used to call it "Sunday, Sunday, the little bastards' fun day," because on Sundays there was a children's show.

I understand there's some sort of sporting event today? Ah, perfect. Days like this are special because I'm, shall we say, not enamored of crowds. Ordinarily I avoid the weekend things other people do, because other people do them on weekends. Maybe I'll take in a movie, or go shopping. I might even hike the Sam Merrill trail. Or is that just too insane?

I agree w/you! When we moved out here the schools were on a 4 vacation calendar.. which means 3 weeks out of school 9 weeks on... It was so nice to have vacations w/out the rest of the crowd that was off for 2 1/2 months during the summer!.
Go for that hike! Never know what the weather will be like next week! :-)

One year I went to Target. It was this amazing female-bonding experience, where we all wandered around with our carts, smiling and saying Hello, knowing that we all had something in common.

The hike sounds like a fine idea. A Target trip does too. That's funny, Adele! I think I'll lay around all day reading and taking naps.

I was thinking the same thing - perhaps the popular hiking trails will be quieter today. But of late there seem to be far more people around that don't follow American football, so I bet the Sam Merrill will be as crowded as ever. Some commentators think that women will watch the game this year as Beyonce is singing. I'll be watching as well - for the brilliant adverts.

I like the ads, but I can see them on the web later. Maybe I won't do the Sam Merrill, though. Too bad, I used to love that trail.

I like people, I just don't like crowds. Adele, your story of Target made me laugh! And KBF, you're right about the weather. Maybe I'll do both.

One of my favorite days to do things that are ordinarily crowded is Tournament of Roses day. It's great for movies, shopping and dining out on the east side during the parade and the game.

Cool photo! And very funny name for Sunday from Second City. Although a hike sounds fun, I'll actually be home watching the game since SF is playing. Go Niners! My mom was at Safeway yesterday and said it was packed with men buying chips and beer.

Katie, I didn't know who was playing. So in that case, Go Niners!

Just don't go out to get chicken wings Petrea...there's going to be a shortage today!!!

We thought this would be a good day for the Lower Arroyo. And it wasn't bad, but there were quite a few people there. Apparently, there are enough crowd-avoiders in Pasadena to make a crowd.

Glad you also decided to share your Boz Walk in the hood with me. Next time I want to hear about Second City!

I've just spent much of the lovely evening strolling and having tea and long conversations. It's nice to have cafes and streets to oneself on this day:)

I'll talk your ear off any time, Betty.

Lulu, I heard the lights went out at the stadium! This is going to be a long one.

Glad you had a good Sunday, Sunday. I assume Boz went along for the walk?

These days we're taking two walks, Ms. M. If we want exercise we don't take him, because he can't keep up. But he always has a play date, or his evening walk, or both.
