Zen Wednesday: #2

It's only happened once before. Zen Wednesday. Today we make history.

I think today I won't explain. I'll let you explain.

  2. Boz says, "It's time to watch Lassie reruns. And I wish my owners would spring for a HD TV."

  3. Boz is learning something new every day. One day he will surprise you with a cake!

  4. Oh no! Remember Poltergeist? The ghost live in the television! Don't let Boz get sucked in. Ectoplasm is a bitch to clean off.

  5. "I need to tell P & J they need to replace the TV in my doghouse!"

  6. Petrea, I couldn't find a way to email you--but want to ask if it would be OK to post a couple photos on your Dia de los Muertos article for Patch. I know the page is set up to allow readers to do this, but I don't want to ruin your photo essay!

    Thanks. My email is lbmonteros@yahoo.com

  7. Hmm. The "About me" seems to be missing--that's where my email address is, so that's missing, too. But yes, Laura, of course, please post your photos. And you've given me an opportunity to plug my new piece on Altadena Patch. There's a link in the upper left corner.

  8. "If I only had thumbs I could change the channel to Animal Planet!".

    Poor Boz!

  9. "Dogs of Pasadena, this is your dog leader speaking. Come join our "Occupy" sit-in in the Pasadena Dog Park. We're asking for our human slave-masters to give us more treats and take us for interesting off-leash hikes. And we're going to bark all night long until we get our way."

(Update: Boz decided he was really happy with the way things were at home and went back to sleep)

  11. "Didn't we watch this yesterday?"

  12. First us, then our kids, now our dogs. Who's the tv going to suck in next?

  13. So many great comments! I can't think of anything that hasn't already been said. It's a fun, provocative photo; perhaps inspiration for a short story?

  14. Boz is my muse, Ms. M. He inspires me to many things. Right now he's attempting to inspire me to give him extra treats but I resist.

You are all onto me. This is an old photo, you can tell by the TV. We had our cable shut off in early 2009 and haven't missed TV, although someone mentioned "Globetrekker" today and I felt a pang of nostalgia.

When we first got Boz he watched "The Singing Dogs of Papua New Guinea" with us one night (a documentary, in case you couldn't tell). At the end he sang with the dogs on the show--sang from the depths of his soul, sang out as hard as he could. If I hadn't already been in love with him that would have been the clincher.

Boz enjoyed TV. We may get another one someday and if we do, we'll consider his needs when we install it.

  15. Somehow, I imagine Boz must have been watching 'The Big Sleep.'

  16. Ha ha, Cliff!

I think he was watching that "Puppy Bowl" that's on at Superbowl time, but you're close.

  18. If you read the comments you know, it's more zen than now.
