The first of the month is our City Daily Photo theme day, and this time it's "fences."
I thought I'd get creative and run by the pawn shop, but ours is a venerated business in a historic building (not exactly a fence). Perhaps I'd locate some skilled athletes and photograph them with their epees. Nevermind. I got caught up in the Halloween rush.
So here's a fence. It's even a little spooky.
I got so caught up in the rush, in fact, that I forgot Halloween was Zen Monday and here it is Tuesday and we're having theme day. So tomorrow will be a historic Zen Wednesday, the second one in PDP history. (The first was in June of last year.)

Love the sunlight in this one. I'd say that fence is doing its job very well.
ReplyDeleteAh good Petrea, always letting the light shine through.
ReplyDeleteVery creative.
ReplyDeleteSo symbolic!
ReplyDeleteGood morning everyone, thank you for your comments. Happy theme day!
ReplyDeleteYes, Julie, it's a good fence.
Dina, you are good to me.
Valladolid, welcome!
Ciel, it's nice to see you here.
Well I"m all out of sorts. I forgot theme day and you just reminded me a week ago!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the sun popping through the slats girl.
V
Virginia, I was just about to head over to your blog to see how you'd shamed me with something clever.
ReplyDeleteAnd will Romeo climb the fence to get to his sun, rising in the East as he glimpses her between the slats?
ReplyDeleteLove that you've combined a fence with the spookiness of Halloween. Clever.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Petrea.
ReplyDeleteA great take on the theme! Fences like that invite peeking, could you resist?
ReplyDeleteThe fences of such design make me feel hopeless. But the sun rising returns the hope back.
ReplyDeletelooks like the sun is burning a hole in the fence
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully optimistic photo, Petrea. You can't fence in sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your visits! I do like theme day, it seems to bring us out to see each other.
ReplyDeleteWow, this ancient fence only allows the sun to shine through at sunrise on All Hallow's Day. Hopefully not onto a sacrificial stone.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, it's not Zen Wednesday yet.
Love your photo -- the sun shining through, no matter the obstacle. We can all use the buoyancy of light.
ReplyDeleteif only I were a dp-er. I'd have proudly displayed the redwood fence Mr V and I labored over.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I haven't kept up with the theme day this month. Turns out by sheer coincidence I did a couple of consecutive posts on fences just last week. I'm psychic. I enjoyed yours.
ReplyDeleteMs. M and others, you've interpreted the photo so nicely. I like how we can all have our own ideas about it.
ReplyDeletePA, you can display that fence anyway.
Steve, you had a premonition or two.
